Update on the boys!
They are doing great! Eating everything we give them. The paint is in your pocket about everything. The bay is learning to trust again. They had their feet done and continue to gain weight and grow stronger!
So happy with how they are doing

Update on the boys!
They are starting to look like horses!
Still need to gain 2-3 hundred pounds before we can get their teeth done. Once they reach that level we will have our vet out to do their teeth.
They did wonderful for or Ferrier.
They eat everything we give them and we have been slowly introducing more.
Can’t wait to be able to post before and after photos!
Love what we do here!

Good evening all
Those that have known us from the beginning will remember Buddy. He was our ranch hand/ sisters horse. We used him for lessons in the beginning.
A week ago he coliced and unfortunately he did not make it.
We prayer for his family for peace in his passing.
He truly will be missed by all!

I didn’t get any pictures yesterday but we had an amazing time in our adult class!
So much fun! Can’t wait to see everyone back for their lessons!

Good morning All!
I promised an update on the boys!
They are gaining weight slowly. Starting to look like horses. Still showing hips but seem very happy.
Vet said to continue re-feeding plans and add pellets so we did.
Once they get to a healthy weight he will do their teeth.
Ferrier will be there tomorrow
They will be needing medicated baths for skin issues. Normal for horses in emaciated condition. With their health improving their skin starts to flake, a few good baths and they will look even better.
The hay belly is starting to look more like weight than just like they over ate.
Still going to wait to post pictures.

Good morning all!
Here is an update on the two horses we took in after seeing a Facebook post and speaking with the owner.

The owner was willing to share the struggles with us and under the circumstances we felt it was in the best interest of the horses to bring them to Far From Perfect Rescue where they will receive the added care and monitoring they needed.

As part of our professional rescue standards we have made contact with Animal Control and they have done their assessment. Their findings will remain private out of the interest of everyone, including the horses.

The paint is the skinnier of the two. The bay is the older of the two. They are eating everything we are giving them and already have hay belly’s which is a good start.

We are closely monitoring their intake of food and water as well as their output. Re-feeding them can sometimes be difficult as it can be a shock to their system.

It will take some time to restore them to a healthy weight and no evaluation of training will be done until they are 100 percent.

We have spoke with our vet and he will be out soon to do an evaluation on both.

We will update once a week on the boys.
