What an incredible day at the 11th Training Meeting of the Order of Veterinarians! 🐾

Dr. Tyler Carmack is so grateful to the scientific committee for the invitation to present at the 11th Training Meeting of the Order of Veterinarians! Her talks covered everything from the 2026 IAAHPC Guidelines and palliative pain management to compassionate communication, euthanasia best practices, and building end-of-life care into your practice.

She was also joined by the wonderful Dr. Álvaro Narváez Godoy (Evaluating Quality of Life) and Dr. Karla Pinto (CBD in hospice and palliative care) — it was a full, rich day of learning and conversation.

Deeply thankful to be part of a growing community committed to honoring animals and their families at every stage of life.

Tribute for sweet Lacey 🌈🐾

"We got Lacey right after the new year in 2015. She was extremely high energy from day one. She got pretty large pretty quickly. Along with her galloping around when she was excited, she also developed a moose call to entertain anyone in earshot. Her personality and friendliness were obvious to everyone. When the grandkids wanted to hug on Lacey and pet her, she was tolerant and calm. She became my workout buddy, she'd lay on the bed and keep me company while I did my workout videos. When she suddenly lost her appetite, it was concerning because she always had a voracious appetite. Medical exams exposed what appeared to be a fast-spreading cancer. We were devastated and made the painful decision to engage Caring Pathways. We will forever be grateful for the companionship and love that Lacey gave to us, and we will miss her terribly."

☀️🐾 As summer approaches, it’s a good time to slow down and notice what our senior pets may need a little more of

Cooler walks.
Fresh water.
More rest.
A comfortable place to escape the heat.

Our pets often age quietly, which is why the small changes matter so much.

A few thoughtful adjustments now can help keep them safe, comfortable, and happy all summer long.

A tribute for Vader 🐾

"Vader was so much more than a dog. He was a cow who liked to graze on the grass. He was an apathetic cat who gave humans the side-eye. He was a choir singer who belted his "woe is me" song whenever he was alone. He was a Sith Lord who had the Force shining out of his butt. He was a foot warmer and an unsuccessful squirrel hunter.

He was too short for a German Shepherd and too tall for a Cocker Spaniel, and he trotted with his different-sized feet to the beat of his own drum. He was a fisherman who only wanted to catch rocks. He was a lap dog too big for most laps.

He was an awakening for a human who had been scared of dogs. He was a best friend for 15 years.

Vader was our sweet boy who will be terribly missed.

We're so grateful to Caring Pathways for helping another of our companions pass peacefully in our home, surrounded by love."
