🦔 FOUND HEDGEHOG 📍Wilmington, DE
This cutie was found in a yard in Wilmington a few nights ago. We’re in contact with DE Animal Welfare and the local SPCA, but so far no missing hedgehogs have been reported. We have confirmed that she is actually the second hedgehog to be found in Wilmington this month, which has us concerned this may be a dumping situation. We very much hope we’re wrong and that there’s somebody out there who loves and misses this sweet girl!
Please reach out if you’re in the Wilmington area and are missing a hedgehog, have seen or found other hedgehogs, or have any tips on where this little girl may have come from.
We are not looking for adopters or fosters at this time. She is currently safe with us and being kept on a stray hold until we know more.
⚠️ If you ever find a hedgehog outdoors, please contact us immediately. We will help guide you through picking it up and keeping it safe and contained until we can get to you. African Pygmy Hedgehogs are captive-bred exotic animals and cannot survive outdoors. A single cold night can be fatal. The kind homeowners who brought this hedgie inside and contacted us absolutely saved her life and we are so grateful.
