Daisy was surrendered to our facility in mid July. Unbeknownst to us she came with heartworm, a potentially fatal, but treatable parasite. (Heartworm is a big risk factor in our area, transmitted by mosquitos). Her loving adopter has recently found this out and will be seeking treatment, which is costly. If you would care to support her medical treatment, donations can be made directly to North Arkansas Vet Clinic (Dr. Mills). Donations may be dropped off or mailed to :

MEOW MONDAY
After almost a week of living in a foster home these 5-week-old tabby siblings are only a week away from being ready to adopt and their personalities are starting to shine! Bagel is a curious and confident stocky male with brown and black tiger stripes on his white fur. He loves being handled and can purr up a storm. Always the first to greet his foster mom with a cheerful meow. Biscuit, the delicate female, has gray and black stripes with white legs and feet. She's less vocal than Bagel but not by much. Biscuit is a smart little angel who follows her brother's lead, only a few steps behind--the place to be when she's ready to pounce on him--and he never sees her coming. Let the wrestling matches begin between the cutest pair of kittens in the whole wide world! They are too young for rabies vaccinations or to spay and neuter but these remedies are included in their $25/each adoption fee. Call CVAC at 870-994-4445 to arrange a meet and greet.

FOSTER FRIDAY
Spice is back to being fostered after having to return to CVAC for 10 days due to foster family vacation. She didn’t forget a thing! A good indicator that she could adapt readily to a forever home.
A new way in describing Spice is she is such a well rounded dog. While she has a sleek and lean 45 lb body her personality is wonderfully well ⭕️ rounded.
* recognizes that Mrs. Foster is the trainer, the routine developer, the one who picks her up and takes her back and forth. And loves her for it. ⭕️ Recognizes Mr. Foster does her two favorite things: feeds her and walks her with the pack. Thinks he walks on water! So, she gets along with men and women.
* recognizes the 14 lb resident dog is her chipmunk chasing pal. ⭕️ Recognizes the 62 lb bully mix doesn’t care to play, thank you anyway. ⭕️ Recognizes the 72 pound older dog plays when he feels like it, and that’s fine too.
*loves to gather up and chew on all the dog toys. ⭕️ But doesn’t take other’s toys away…until that moment that they lose interest! So, she’s well socialized with the family dogs.
*Enjoys being inside and gets free roam in the house when family is home as she is 98% housetrained and not a destructive chewer. ⭕️ Loves to sit outside too, with a chew toy, and doesn’t bark or scratch at door. ⭕️ Also wonderfully crate trained, goes right in at night or when family is gone for short errands.
*Spice earns a 5 circle rating ⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️

Diva! The staff spent so much time working with this initially shy girl and now her forever family has found her and she’s officially adopted after a month of Foster to Adopt! THANK YOU ADOPTERS! It’s NATIONAL MUTT DAY! This day is to showcase all the mixed breeds or “mutts” that fill the shelters. The genetic mix of a mutt typically leads to fewer health issues as the gene pool is larger. And if you have a mutt, please share in the comments the value and love they have brought to your home. Photos encouraged!
In the video we are showcasing our youngest puppy mutts at CVAC. As our young volunteer states it so well at the end, “they need a home”. Sponsorships are available, call CVAC to ask or message us. 870-994-4445.
