Our wonderful friend Erika came over tonight and did an ultrasound for Edith and she is for sure confirmed pregnant. We didn’t get an in-depth look as Edith was not in the mood for it tonight but there was a ton of little babies on the screen in the quick views we got. 🐷🐽

We should be welcoming babies around June 13th or after with the way this breed goes with farrowing.

Last night we welcomed 2 new girls to our breeding program. “Opal” (black one) and Helga (orange one). These girls are 1year old Hampshire’s that were raised with a wonderful family that reached out and knew we would give them a wonderful home. The girls are so friendly and stout!

We Can’t wait to see the cross and colors we get with hamlet and opal first then hamlet and Helga.

Opal is already in with hamlet so hopefully in the next 4 months we will have more babies on the ground!

Welcome to the farm Double Stuff! We hope to see some nice babies out of you and the girls!
We went in hopes of a black bull but prices were just too high so we got double stuff instead. He will still work just fine for feeding the family through the years with giving us calves.

Ron got home from work just in time for Marge to have started her labor process. Unfortunately, she laid on three and they passed, but she’s currently got 16 alive. She gave birth to a total of 19 so far, which is insane for a second litter let alone a whole litter. most litters do not average any numbers that high, so far we only have one runt that we will have to keep an eye on, but everybody else is doing very good. The big struggle will be hoping that all of them can keep eating because she doesn’t have enough ni***es for all of them at the moment so we’ll have to keep an eye on them. They’ve had their iron shots and they’ve had their teeth clipped. Mama is doing fantastic. Much calmer this go round.

Just kidding. But we got our semen shipment just in time for Edith coming into heat today. First breeding is done. 2 more tomorrow then ultrasound in 30 days to see if she took. Then hopefully more adorable wrinkling babies in about 4 months.

We should have babies here by the end of the month! They sold fast last time. Message me to get on the wait list! The last litter was grown out to butcher weight within 7-8 months.
