Update on Arya mama dog pumpkin pie. 🥰😢
There are a variety of reasons this can happen but it’s important for our puppy owners to know their dam’s health history.
Arya, our foundation girl, was diagnosed with Chronic Spondylosis Deformans.
Like many Wolfhounds, she has been so stoic. 🤗 She has episodes over the past few years but they were short and not often. We had no idea what was causing it. We managed with basic pain med protocols and it would only last a day or two if we recognized it early.
This recent episode has been her worst. She was improving but not as much much as we hoped, so we sought experienced chiropractic care. Turns out that is the worst thing you can do for this. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😢 It definitely made it worse. I appreciate the chiro recognized that there was definitely something off and stopped at that point and part of her spine. Still made things worse nonetheless. Love Chiro but make sure you know what’s going on before seeking it. It was a wrong choice in this case. 😩
We did find the right medication combination that finally allowed her to lay down and rest somewhat.
Formal diagnosis made by X-ray yesterday at our regular vet. She is on 4 meds to help with it for now. Cold laser therapy at home.
It’s probably the cause of her rear end weakness, knuckling and foot dragging. 😞
