Oh Polly Wolly Wubbens, Pol Wall, Piggy/Biggy Pols, Pollard, Polly Shore… where do I even begin on your go home day? 🥹 Polly has been with us for the last 5 weeks working on her reactivity to other dogs, overall obedience, recall, and learning how to navigate the world a little more calmly and confidently. Somewhere along the way, she also became the absolute best of pals with our Kino (no surprise there… he is a ladies man! 😂) And also, stole our hearts.. including my parents!
She even pulled Piper out of retirement for a little work around a barking dog, and honestly, I think Piper quite enjoyed having a job again. Watching those two work together was pretty darn special!💕 Polly is just a very special girl. The biggest, happiest smile. The wiggliest little butt. And the biggest back sasser who will absolutely let you know how she’s feeling! 😅 She has SO much personality packed into that little body!
We started field trips with her pretty early on, even if that initially meant doing nothing more than sitting in a park and letting her take in the world. From there, she got to experience more and more, new places, people coming and going, dogs, busy environments, breweries, parks, stores, and all the other random pieces of everyday life that make up the real world. She made a LOT of people smile along the way. She encountered quite a few dogs, played HARD, and then learned that sometimes you have to rest even harder! 😂 Her hip dysplasia/soreness meant we had some extra rest days and a few bumps in the road, but she kept moving forward, and I am tremendously proud of the strides she has made.
And man… how is it already time to say see you later? 5 weeks somehow feels like forever and five minutes all at the same time. It has been such a privilege to work with this girl, get to know her and her owner, and watch her grow. We’re going to miss this sweet Pig being here, especially saying good morning to that wiggly little butt every single day, even when she was still approximately 97% asleep! 😂 We are going to miss you, Pols. SO much. Go home, practice and work hard, and keep showing your people just how much you have to offer. You’ve come a long way, sweet girl! 🫶🏼 At least we still have your lessons ahead! We love you, Polly Wolly!! 😭💕
