Meet Team Member Ciara:

Why Ciara got started in Vet Med:
"I was blessed growing up in a house that allowed us to have an array of pets! I loved the aspect of caring for them and offering supportive care different times in their lives. I found the Chat State Vet Tech program when starting college and graduated knowing it was the only profession for me!"

Ciara's favorite part of her job now:
"My favorite part about being a vet tech is being an advocate for the patient under my care and working as a team to give the best patient care possible. I also greatly enjoy teaching fellow technicians new skills or knowledge."

Ciara's Favorite Dog Breed:
"Labrador Retrievers- yellow or chocolate are loved but Black are adored 🖤"

This concludes meeting all of CTAC's technician team! We hope all fellow technicians have had a wonderful tech week. The next time you are at your veterinary clinic, please thank the tech that is caring for your pet!

Why Grace got started in Vet Med:
"I grew up with a special love for animals (specifically my childhood dog, Jasmine) and when deciding what I wanted to go to school for, all of my career options were linked to working with animals in some way. I am currently in school working to obtain my Veterinary Technician degree and test for my license! "

Grace's favorite part of her job now:
"My favorite part about being a vet tech is creating bonds with patients and continuing to learn as medicine continues to progress! "

Grace's Favorite Dog Breed:
Pittie mixes are my favorite, but I LOVE long haired dachshunds!!

Meet Team Member Ricardo:

Why Ricardo got started in Vet Med:
"For as long as I could remember I have always wanted to work with animals. Once I reached college I was still set on working with animals but didn’t know what degree to pursue so I was an undecided stem major. My advisor was showing me different careers and I saw Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician. I immediately said "I’m so sorry I know what I’m about to say means I am no longer your student as this right here is my degree. I swapped immediately and have no regrets. "

Ricardo's favorite part of his job now:
" Being able to see a patient from start to finish of a treatment, and building a relationship with them. That process and then seeing them able to walk out and come back for rechecks or yearly exams. "

Ricardo's Favorite Dog Breed:
"Husky and Rough Collies."

Meet Team Member Maddi:

Why Maddi got started in Vet Med:
"I’ve had an unhealthy obsession with animals since I was a baby, so loving animals was never the question! 😂 I just never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.
During my senior year of high school, we had to research different careers and colleges, and that’s when I discovered the veterinary technician program. It was still almost three years of college, but I knew it would be worth it to do something I was actually passionate about. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made, and I wouldn’t trade a second of it. ❤️🐾 "

Maddi's favorite part of her job now:
"My favorite part of being a vet tech is the care and love I get to give the animals. Whether they’re having their best day or their worst day, I always try to make sure they feel loved, safe, and cared for because they deserve nothing less. That’s what has kept me going and what continues to drive me after more than 10 years in this profession. It’s so much more than a job to me. Veterinary medicine will always have such a special place in my heart. "

Maddi's Favorite Dog Breed:
"German Shepherd "

Meet Team Member Alyssa:

Why Alyssa got started in Vet Med:
"I don’t know if there was one specific moment. I think it was something that grew with me from childhood. I’ve always had a big heart for animals, and the idea of being able to comfort them, care for them, and make a difference in their lives just felt right. 🤍🐾 "

Alyssa's favorite part of her job now:
" The little moments that remind me why I chose this career — a scared animal finally feeling comfortable with you, seeing a patient get better and get to go home, watching the bond between pets and their people, or just knowing you made their day a little easier. 🐾🤍 "

Alyssa's Favorite Dog Breed:
"Golden Retrievers! That was the first dog breed I ever had and they will always have a soft spot in my heart. "

Meet Team Member Steph:

Why Steph got started in Vet Med:
"I knew I wanted to work with animals from a young age. After graduating from college I spent some time working in a small vet practice and enjoyed the technical skills and hands on work of a vet tech’s role. I decided to go back to school to become a vet tech and the rest is history! "

Stephs's favorite part of her job now:
"I love that every day is something new. Something specific to CTAC is that we get to spend a lot of time with our patients and really get to know their true personalities. This is a luxury vet techs don’t often get at an ordinary vet clinic. I also love the challenge of anesthesia and problem solving. "

Steph's Favorite Dog Breed:
"Irish Wolfhound- I love a big scruffy dog with a gentle demeanor."

Meet Team Member Falyn:

Why Falyn got started in Vet Med:
"Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to be an animal control officer, which led me to get started in shelter medicine as soon as I could. During that time, I realized I wanted to explore more sides of veterinary medicine, so I attended Chattanooga State’s veterinary technician program. This is where I was introduced to the specialty side of veterinary medicine and fell in love with oncology. "

Falyn's favorite part of her job now:
"My favorite part is getting to play a small part in every pets journey and getting to love on them as if they were my own. It’s really rewarding to gain a family’s trust!"

Falyn's Favorite Dog Breed:
My favorite dog breed is literally anything with a big head. I just love getting to squeeze and kiss a big head!

Over the next few days, we’re excited to introduce you to the incredible people who make CTAC such a special place. Each team member has their own story, shaped by the pets who have touched their lives and inspired their passion for caring for animals who need an extra voice.

Karla's favorite part of her job now:
Learning about my patients personality and little quirks so I can provide personalized care. It is always an honor to be able to be a part of their journey.

Karla's Favorite Dog Breed:
I don’t have a favorite dog breed, but any senior dog will always have a special place in my heart.

Stay tuned to meet the rest of the amazing team.
