💙🐾 Meet Titan — our happy hippo, land seal, and CANCER-FREE good boy! 🐾💙

Titan is a lovable gray 5.5 year old pit bull mix with a heart as big as his adorable face. This sweet boy came to AESC of Chattanooga after an oral mass was discovered that needed further evaluation and removal.

Because of the location and nature of his mass, Titan underwent an oncologic surgery called a mandibulectomy, during which the mass and a portion of his lower jaw were removed. 🩺💙

And today? Titan is CANCER FREE! 🎉🎉🎉

Sure, his tongue now has a little more freedom to hang out of the side of his mouth… 👅😂 But honestly, we think it makes this already-adorable boy even cuter!

Most importantly, Titan is still the same happy, loving, tail-wagging boy he has always been. 🥰🐶 His sweet spirit hasn’t changed one bit!

Titan’s story is a wonderful reminder of the importance of having oral masses evaluated promptly.

At AESC of Chattanooga, our oncology and specialty surgery teams work together to provide advanced care for pets facing cancer and other complex conditions.

We’re so happy to see this handsome land seal living his best life — with a little extra tongue and a whole lot of love! 💙🐾

🍊 Orange you glad it’s September 1st? Happy Ginger Cat Appreciation Day! 🍊

Today, we are celebrating our favorite fire-furred, cheese-colored, purring pumpkins! 🎃

Whether they are full of spicy energy or sweet cuddles, ginger cats hold a special place in our hearts - and our clinic!

To honor these bright felines, here are 4 fun facts you might not know about ginger tabbies:

🔶 The Boy Band Effect: About 80% of ginger cats are male! The gene for orange fur lives on the X chromosome, meaning female cats need two copies of the gene to be orange, while males only need one.

🔶 They All Have Patterns: There is no such thing as a solid orange cat. Every single ginger cat is a tabby, featuring those iconic stripes and the classic "M" mark on their foreheads.

🔶 Ageless Freckles: As ginger cats grow older, many develop adorable, harmless black freckles on their noses, lips, and gums.

🔶 The "Orange Cat" Personality: While science says coat color doesn't dictate attitude, ginger cat owners know these kitties are famously vocal, incredibly affectionate, and sometimes a little bit chaotic!

✨ Remembering Sweet Stevie ✨
To mark this day, our AESC family is remembering Stevie. In 2017, she found her forever home when she was rescued by Summer, our Marketing Referral Coordinator, from the SPCA of Ocala, FL. As their longest-term resident at eight years old, Stevie finally got the chance she so deeply deserved. She spent the rest of her long life showered with endless affection, kisses, and love. Named after Stevie Nicks, this sweet girl lived to be nearly 14. She will always hold a special place in our hearts as the very best puppy girl in the world. 💜

Callie is a sweet 10-year-old senior Black Lab Retriever mix who visited AESC of Chattanooga today because she was having some tummy troubles. 🐶🩺

Our senior pups deserve a little extra TLC when their tummies aren’t feeling their best! We’re happy to help Callie feel more comfortable and get her back to doing what she loves most. 🥰🐾

Today, we say goodbye to a true Tennessee legend. 🦋

Dolly Parton touched generations through her music, her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering love for her home state and the people and communities around her. Her legacy reaches far beyond the stage — she spent her life giving back, lifting others up, and reminding us of the power of compassion.

Dolly made a huge contribution to the dog world. She was a major supporter of animal welfare, particularly through her My People Fund and other charitable efforts.

As veterinary professionals, we know just how deeply animals become part of our families and our lives. So today, we’re remembering Dolly with a little extra love for the four-legged companions who bring so much joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our world. 🐶🐾
