🐾 Surgery Success Story: Luna’s Journey to Healing 🐾

Our surgical team is thrilled to share a very special update!

Sweet Luna, a playful pup who once loved racing through crunchy leaves and sniffing out hidden acorns, recently underwent a life-changing procedure with us — a total hip replacement performed by Dr. Peck, who also happens to be featured in Luna’s storybook.

Luna’s journey is one of courage, patience, and resilience. After an unexpected injury changed her world, she had to learn something incredibly hard for a dog who loves to run — how to slow down and heal. With the unwavering support of her family and her care team, Luna is already showing us what bravery looks like in real life.

We’re honored to be part of Luna’s journey — both in the operating room and in the pages of her story. Her recovery is a beautiful reminder that healing isn’t just physical; it’s also built on love, trust, and resilience.

🍂 Go Luna! Keep taking those brave steps forward—your acorn adventures are waiting for you.

Meet this adorable 5-week-old puppy who came to us after suffering head trauma and a skull fracture.

Our Emergency & Critical Care and Neurology teams worked together to evaluate and care for this little fighter every step of the way. To help protect his healing skull and prevent further injury, he was initially fitted with a tiny protective helmet while recovering.

We’re so happy to have been part of his care team and to support him on his road to recovery. Wishing this sweet pup continued healing and plenty of happy puppy days ahead! 🐶✨

After a frightening encounter with a dog, this sweet girl was brought to us by a Good Samaritan for emergency care. While no external wounds were initially identified, she had suffered significant head trauma from the attack. Over the following days, she developed a fever, stopped eating, and began showing signs of inflammation within the fatty tissue of her abdomen, along with a small abdominal wall hernia related to her injuries.

She remained hospitalized with us for supportive care, including IV fluids, medications, nutritional support, and placement of a feeding tube while she recovered. After being discharged to her foster, Dr. Sullivan, she slowly began to turn the corner — and shortly after arriving home, she started eating on her own again.

Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, her family reached out, and she was finally reunited with the people — and canine/feline housemates — who missed her so much. ❤️

She continues to improve every day and is very happy to be back where she belongs. We are so grateful to the Good Samaritan who stepped in to help, and we’re honored we could be part of her journey home.
