Nothing else matters more to me then the bromance I share with Leopold the 1st. I've been working hard to find my seat, hands, and everything else dressage requires. I am no where near perfect. Im so appreciative of Leo's patience with me. 3 weeks before the show I felt like he needed a break from me. We took it easy and I had work to catch up on. The following week he colicked. Our wonderful vet came out in an emergency and treated him. But he wasn't quite right still. Didn't eat or drink for 3 days.... I was visiting him every 4 hours, intriguing him with mashes to hydrate. By the end of the week he was himself again. Now we had the show in a few days. My bride/trainer and I decided its time to move up to training level. I practiced my test one time before we trailered out. Leo knows when its showtime. He knew exactly where he was. He was so responsive to aids. We were one, i finally felt what inside leg outside rein feels like! Lol I do this not only to support our local shows and show off his fancy Custom Saddlery saddle, but because I love him and I want him to be involved. I prayed for a horse big enough to carry me, patient enough to learn on, and free because who has the money for a horse!? lol He's my $1 gift from God and I have no shame baby! First day we got a 52%, I experienced what it was like to canter in a real arena for the first time. Second day we got a 55%, I figured out the things we needed to improve, like hitting the corners and staying on the rail. Third day I told my trainer, watch me get a 58%. And that's exactly what we got! I learned so much the past 3 days, all to make me a better rider for my Leo. A big thank you to our friends at Wind River Dressage for the support. And of course, the bride Bryce Adelle for all you do. We love you! 🩵🦕
