“Morning Trust Wiggles” from Ellie. Would you believe that it’s been less than 2 weeks since she was dumped in the desert in a crate, left for dead! Thankfully a friend of Hope For Paws saw the post, grabbed the dog and got her to their vet. She was probably NEVER treated with kindness before being rescued. She had a chain embedded in her neck. Her dark days are a thing of the past.
Ellie loves everyone but she gets extra flirty with men. She really wants to be a Daddy’s Girl.
And her dance moves are so cute. Tap, tap, tap. 💃
5yo, 40lbs, good on leash, crate trained, more details to come as we get to know each other.
We’ve been on an intake freeze which is impossible when we are faced with SO MANY animals being abandoned, abused, neglected. Thankfully a couple dogs are on trials and doing well, so we took a chance and offered to take Ellie.

LA Animal Rescue’s expansion efforts…
2 weeks into the lease (to own)
4 tons of metal removed
Many piles of trash ready to go
The trees are getting trimmed and brush cleared.
This place is going to be a tranquil rescue ranch for so many farm and domestic animals.
The goal is $335k. The reason for a purchase instead of a long term lease is STABILITY for the animals. No “omg, they’re kicking us out! Where will the animals go?!” Or “they raised the rent and we can’t afford to stay. Where will the animals go?!” We run things differently. We can’t have that potential drama lurking and the SOS posts that could follow. Please help us achieve this goal with a small (whatever is comfortable) donation. We just need a lot of people to care a little and we can make this happen.
More horses, dogs, cats, goats, pigs, chickens/roosters, ducks, guinea pigs and others can call this place home.

Big news for Shrimp!!!! She has been adopted! And look how happy she is with her new dog siblings! Thank you to Kathy & Tim for opening their hearts and home to this special girl. And thank you to her dedicated fosters Kevin Hamedani & Sarah Chatfield for taking great care of her and ultimately helping her find her forever family. ♥️
This little dog is one of the lucky ones! Seen being tossed from a a car (why is this such a common occurrence?😔), had an “owner” that came forward but surrendered her when they realized her medical needs, she recovered but it was discovered she also had some mobility issues since birth. She’ll always have a hitch in her giddy but she’s happy and thriving! We’re so grateful for amazing humans that see past imperfections and love the dogs AS IS. ♥️🐾

When you get a dog off the street, you don’t know what their temperament is, what their medical needs will be or how long it will take to find them the right home. Committed fosters are also very rare, unfortunately. The point is, every situation is different, expenses are hard to predict and we truly appreciate the people that support our work.
We are currently working on a fundraising campaign to expand the rescue ranch so we can save more domestic and farm animals. Please see the link in our bio or recent posts. Any amount helps! We don’t need 1 person to donate a lot, we just need a lot of people to donate a little. It all adds up. 😉

Darling Darla looks like a husky/chihuahua or a jindo mix??? Your guess is as good as ours. 4-5 months old. She was tossed out of a car and our volunteer’s father ran out in the street and grabbed her. She’s fine, thankfully no injuries! She was a little weak from the major flea infestation but a flea bath and a few days at the vet fixed her right up. She’s now vaccinated, spayed, chipped, f***l tested/dewormed and flea treated. She’s ready for adoption. Meet her Sunday at our weekly adoption event:

Eloise is back with us. She’s decompressing. Poor girl is confused and stressed. If you recall, she was adopted last year and recently came back (with Archie, another one of our dogs) due to “life changes.” Well, she was adopted about a month ago but recently started nipping any male visitors.
Yes, our application and contract asks if they are willing to seek advice from a reputable trainer if issues arise. But not everyone follows through or wants to dedicate the time or money. I’m not judging. I’m just sad for Eloise. She’s had 2 different homes give up on her in a short period of time. She’s back with her familiar foster family and we will either find her the right forever home or she’ll just stay with us. There’s no rush.
This is a perfect example of what we do and why we need to expand. We are committed to our animals and we want to help more.
Eloise was pulled from SLA Shelter in May 2025. She was a stray which we know is code for “breeder dump” and she was out of time for health (URI) and space.
She’s approx 5yo, house trained (when she’s comfortable and in a routine), good with other dogs, selective with men (new development) and no health issues other than occasional allergies.

This is Emma. She is getting spayed today and she is READY for a forever home. She is maybe 6mo (at most), tiny shepherd mix, very social with other dogs & cats. She was found living under a van in Compton. Full of ticks, hungry, exhausted and cautious with strangers. She experienced a lot of stress and fear at a very young age and because of that, she needs patient humans that are going to ease into the relationship, not expecting too much too soon. If you come on strong, she’s going to avoid that energy. If you chill and give her some space, she’s going to gravitate towards you.

Nala is a sweet dog that was getting overlooked in the crowded city shelter in Van Nuys. A volunteer of the shelter took her home and has been fostering her to help her on her journey. 28 acres 2 minutes from our current location. We’ll be able to help more horses and other farm animals as well as more dogs & cats. We’re currently caring for 35 dogs, 30 cats (plus a feral colony), 50 ducks, 4 geese, 13 pigs, 15 roosters, 25 chickens, a goat and 2 horses. But there are many more animals in need of a safe, loving place.
