🍂🐱 DID YOU KNOW YOUR CAT MIGHT NOTICE FALL BEFORE YOU DO?

As the days get shorter and temperatures begin to drop, you might notice some changes in your cat’s daily routine!

Cats are sensitive to changes in daylight, which can influence their activity levels, sleep patterns, and even appetite.

You may notice your feline friend:
🐾 Spending more time curled up in cozy spots
🐾 Seeking out warm, sunny windows
🐾 Sleeping a little longer
🐾 Showing subtle changes in appetite or activity

While small seasonal changes can be normal, significant changes in appetite, energy, or behavior shouldn’t automatically be blamed on the weather.

At Monticello Animal Hospital, we’re here to help keep your feline friends happy and healthy through every season!

🐱 Does your cat have a favorite cozy spot when the weather gets cooler? Tell us in the comments!

🩺 WHAT DOES A LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN ACTUALLY DO?

Veterinary Technician Week is next week, so we thought this was the perfect time to show you just how much our Licensed Veterinary Technicians do behind the scenes every single day.

LVTs are credentialed veterinary professionals who play a huge role in your pet’s medical care. Depending on the patient and procedure, you may find them:

🐾 Monitoring anesthesia and recovering surgical patients
💉 Placing IV catheters and drawing blood
🔬 Running laboratory tests and examining samples under the microscope
🩻 Taking diagnostic images
🦷 Performing dental cleanings and taking dental X-rays
💊 Calculating and administering medications and treatments
🩹 Providing nursing care to sick and hospitalized patients
❤️ Monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in a patient’s condition
📋 Educating pet owners about medications, treatments, prevention, and at-home care
🐶 Comforting nervous patients and making their visit as stress-free as possible
…and SO much more.

Next week, we’ll be celebrating the incredible technicians who do it all here at Monticello Animal Hospital.
