This sweet older gal comes to us as a stray. She has some geriatric medical concerns but she appears to have had a family before. Pepper loves to be held and she’s a bit round, so she’s been eating well😅

These situations always leave our shelter staff guessing. Is the owner elderly and not tech savvy to know how to search for their lost pet? Could the owner have become ill or have passed away? Pepper doesn’t strike those boxes of an unloved or unwanted pet💔

We are hoping to get this girl on the right path by connecting with a rescue organization with more medical resources. It’s likely Pepper will need both eyes enucleated, some dental extractions, and evaluation of the masses that she has. If you can help, please contact the shelter!🐾

a few updates from this past busy week. On Thursday we welcomed Gertie a very senior, blind and deaf malteese/poodle mix with Kidney disease I have added some sensitive stomach food to our wishlist for her as she has bad GI upset we can use some pill pockets and wellness kibble, i am trying to stick with that as recently we have had GI upset to different brands being used
On Friday, little 5lb Lucy had a seizure. out of nowhere, she went to my vet to be observed for a few hours and get IV fluids and she had another seizure there. She has been started on Phenobarbital but it will take some time for it to become therapeutic. She has had 4 more since Friday. I have some extra help in her care, sweet June! June seems to know when there is something wrong with one of the dogs. she has that nose that can smell that something isn't right and she wants to help make it right. Diego's brother Lucas had that same gift but he was only there to tell you some one needs attention and more so in people than the other dogs Im attaching our general wishlist with items added for Gertie; Thanks to everyone who sent Bear and Benji food. Bears coat already is looking better!

Thank you to who ever sent the food and bone broth! I got several cases of food for Benji D and Bear There was no gift receipt in any of the boxes Bless you for helping us help them
