Routine neighborhood walks and the backyard are fine… but over time they can get very boring for many dogs. Seek a little adventure/change/new experience once in a while with your dog. In fact… dare to take an adventure with just you and your dog for a full day (or even a couple days) with no other humans… no one else present or reachable. You will most likely unlock a whole new level of bonding with your dog 🙂

Bath time for Walter! Walter goes home tmr morning and I have really enjoyed working with him. He has progressed significantly with all his on and off leash training and I have no doubt the owner is going to be thoroughly enjoy the 2.0 version of his pup. Let the fun adventures begin!

Day of Betrayal … BATH DAY! 😂 Wylder, Rocky and Norman are all going home this weekend so this evening was bath time. Walter is going home Monday so he will go through the torture Sunday evening. All the owners are of course elated to be getting their dogs back.

These dogs have progressed by leaps and bounds. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with these guys & watching them progress day in 2 day out. Now it is time to train the owners and let them take over the role of pack leader. Looking forward to working with all the owners and excited for them to start enjoying the new and improved 2.0 version of their dogs.

Dogs in training are getting in a plethora of group “place” sessions. “Place” command is great for both canine and human:

Dogs:

1. Teaches CALM on command
2. Teaches they are not always the center of attention
3. Teaches impulse control/ decision making

Humans: it is all about being practical and useful

1. Cooking & Family meal times- nice to have a dog on “place” and not at the table begging for food or barking for attention, or underfoot in general, etc.

2. Guests entering the home- nice to have the dog on “place” so guests can enter without being bombarded with dog energy, especially elderly guests or toddlers.

3. Dog gets the “zoomies” or other annoying energy and we simply are not in the mood for “zoomies” or that excitable energy at that moment

4. Helps with public down/stays or “settle” out at coffee shops, kids’ soccer games, family picnic, brewery, etc and vice versa.
