After five wonderful years as an integral part of our hospital, Dr. Alexa Diaz will be moving on; her last day as part of Team QCAH will be Friday, August 14th.
Dr. Diaz’s time with us began as a veterinary student during her clinical rotations at the University of Georgia. We immediately saw the fire in her eyes and knew she would be an amazing addition to our team. So in June of 2021, she became the very first veterinarian that was hired after Dr. Hreiz and Dr. Cline opened the hospital. She’s been a part of shaping who we are as a hospital ever since.
If your pet has been fortunate enough to be under the care of Dr. Diaz, you already know all that she brings to the hospital and our patients. She is just as skilled with dogs and cats as she is with rabbits, reptiles, birds, and other exotic companions. She even saw a gap in care for fish and started our fish medicine program! And as a bilingual veterinarian, she's provided compassionate care to the pets of our Spanish-speaking clients. That commitment won't be leaving with her — we're working on a plan to continue serving our Spanish-speaking families, with details coming soon.
Originally from Florida, Dr. Diaz has decided to move back home to be closer to family. While we are saddened by her departure, we are also immensely grateful for the past five years of her service and dedication to the veterinary profession. We know the next chapter of her story will be filled with greatness, as she so rightly deserves.
Dr. Diaz's final day at QCAH will be Friday, August 14th. On that day, we invite her clients and patients to stop by the hospital and wish her well on her next adventure.
And now for the sweet part of this bittersweet news… this isn’t a full goodbye! Dr. Diaz will be coming back to see patients at QCAH periodically as a relief veterinarian, so you may still spot her around the hospital from time to time. So instead of goodbye, we will say…
See you later, Dr. Diaz. Thank you for everything.
