RAVE Retrievers Classes available Thursday, Friday and Sunday Mornings. from 8am till noon. All other times by appointment only. We are all about obedience and RETRIEVERS.

Rules for Gun and Dog safety must be followed. 😊 This does not resemble obedience classes . RAVE Retrievers is an Obedience and Gundog training facility. we offer classes so you learn how to work the dog, we train YOU! We train and hunt in several locations and provide many scenerios for the hunting retriever and or tracking game dog. RAVE Retrievers has two location, one in San Antonio, Jourdanton and two other training areas for developing your Dogs. We have no affiliation with any other facility or trainers. We are now adding apprenticeship program here and excited about adult and juniors in the program. Thank you for your interest in RAVE Retrievers.

I have constant calls from individuals who want me to direct them to the best well bred dogs. If you ask me how much and where they are you failed immediately. Price and distance really should not matter. You cannot get the best from a Walmart parking lot. Can you get a pet from a lot or along the highway? Yes but no guarantees on anything! Which brings me to a client that I truly admire her , the husband and kiddos. How they got Bravo the famous Golden Retriever. . The Prince and The Stink. I had the pleasure of working with, training , hunting and just enjoying his amazing personality. By the way he travels and is included on vacations. You go where the Best are Spain! She did not need me to find Bravo. This person was Born with instinct and savvy. Rachel Truair continue being incredible at all you do, family, career, dogs and horses. Also Bravo for Bravo for getting his perfect family.

I get perplexed with individuals who constantly
criticize their dogs with belittling comments. Examples, my dog is bad, my dog is not smart, my dog is stubborn, difficult, not in the mood today, my dog doesn’t really like this drill, I don't know why my dog jumps on people, I don't know why my dog sits crooked, I don't know why it goes ahead of me on the leash walks, i don't know why it doesn’t like to work for me and just runs around. These comments sadden me especially, if these individuals ever worked with me. They either didn't listen, comprehended or care enough. Many play with their phones as if they are too important to be here. Don't blame the Dog for you're lack of interest, lack of consistency and lack of commitment. You must have PRESENCE, COMMITMENT, CONSISTENCY, ATTITUDE, FOCUS. Then comes respect. Then the CONNECTION or not . Do they respect their owner, leader ? Stop making yourself look bad by saying the most ridiculous statements one can about amazingly intelligent dogs when given the opportunityand guided correctly. They exude you're commitment or lack thereof. Most if no all failure comes directly from owners and the family doing thing's with the dogs that confuse or sabotage the dogs learning . Get with a program and stop wasting so many good Dogs. Success comes from you.

The many "things" many dogs owners fail horribly!
1. Nutrition,add whole foods and meat.
2. Truly inconsistent with training.
3. Inconsistent with commands. Not making everyone in their family
accountable to do it right! Kids unsupervised are just like dogs, out of control. Never should children be unsupervised with dogs!
4. Think like a dog. If you were a dog would you love your life? Being a pet is not being a happy dog. Dogs like physical work and to be challenged intellectually.
5. Do not overdo the vaccines.
6. Hands on your dog. Means checking for lumps bumps etc.. Check ears. Mouth , nails and a**l glands.
The well being of your dogs is entirely your responsibility. If you don't want that then rehome them to someone who will be able to better care for them. Unfortunately many families enjoy the novelty of a new pup. Then comes the wearing off and we have dogs neglected in all ways. If you do not respect their place on this earth then do not get a dog.
