Bruce said today’s agenda was simple: sniff everything, climb things he definitely wasn’t asked to climb, take in the neighborhood views, and secure a little treat for all his hard work. 😂

Stumbled upon an empty dog park, so Bruce got the whole place to himself. Then he realized there were people playing football in the field next to us… and suddenly the dog park was no longer the main attraction.

He indeed wanted to play ball. 😂🏈

Bruce had a very busy day of exploring, people watching, investigating train tracks and checking the neighborhood’s missing cat situation. 😂

Did you know we have crocs in Charlotte? Bruce found one on the trail. Thankfully, he approached the situation with extreme professionalism and immediately began a full investigation. Swipe to see his investigation. After several very thorough sniffs, he determined the Croc was not a threat to the public.

Yesterday we got to play chauffeur and drop Bruce off for a day with his friends at Hounds Town. He’s a regular there, and we always love getting to see our friends when we drop him off.

If your pup is a daycare kind of dog, Bruce definitely recommends checking them out.

And obviously, no daycare drop-off is complete without a quick photoshoot first. Just a handsome boy heading in for a day with his buddies.

Another day of Bruce doing what he does best: taking his time. 🌿

Not every adventure needs to be about miles walked or how fast you get there. Sniffing, stopping, watching the world go by, and taking in the scenery are all part of the experience.

For dogs, sniffing is enrichment. It gives them information about their environment, engages their brain, and allows them to explore at their own pace. Sometimes the best thing we can do on a walk is loosen the leash and let them simply be a dog.

Bruce definitely understands the assignment. 🐾

Bruce is definitely a slow down and take it all in kind of adventurer. 😂 No need to rush when there are views to admire, bridges to investigate, smells to sniff, and plenty of time to stop and watch the world go by.

Bruce said the heat was NOT going to ruin his Paws On Mountains adventure today. 😂☀️

With these Charlotte summer temps, we took it slow with plenty of shade, sniff breaks, water stops, and time to cool down. Sometimes the best adventures aren’t about how many miles you cover, but making sure your pup gets to explore safely and at their own pace.

And yes, Bruce’s using a portable water bowl that is Starry Night because hydration can be cultured. 🎨😂

Hot-weather reminder: always check the pavement, carry plenty of water, seek out shade, and watch your pup for signs that they’ve had enough.
