A reliable recall isn't built in a day; it’s built through consistency, practice, and making coming back to you the best choice every time. 🐾

Today Lexi worked on off-leash recall, focusing on responding quickly and happily, even with distractions around. Freedom is earned through training, and a strong recall helps keep your dog safe wherever your adventures take you!

Teaching your dog to settle during dinner doesn't happen overnight; it’s a skill! 🍽️🐾

Millie is choosing to lay and hang out instead of barking, begging, or jumping at the table, we're rewarding calm behavior on a bed or mat. With consistency and practice, your dog can learn that relaxing pays off too.

Puppy Training Starts Earlier Than You Think!

Many people think training begins once a puppy is older, but learning starts the moment your puppy comes home. Every interaction is teaching them something, whether it's good habits or unwanted ones!

Focus on:
✔️ Building confidence
✔️ Rewarding calm behavior
✔️ Positive socialization experiences
✔️ Potty training consistency
✔️ Teaching basic skills like sit, come, and settle

The goal isn't a perfectly obedient puppy overnight. It's creating a strong foundation that will last a lifetime. Small training sessions, patience, and lots of positive reinforcement can make a huge difference.

The puppy stage may feel overwhelming at times, but the work you put in now will pay off with a well-mannered, confident adult dog.

Meet this adorable shepherd pup Sparrow who has been working hard on mastering the "down" cue! 🐕

Teaching a reliable down is more than just getting your pup to lie on the floor, it is about building impulse control, focus, and calm behavior in exciting environments.

When practicing "Down":
✔️ Reward quickly when your dog's elbows hit the ground.
✔️ Keep training sessions short and fun.
✔️ Gradually add distractions once your pup understands the cue.
✔️ Remember that consistency is key!

German Shepherds are intelligent, driven dogs that thrive when given clear guidance and a job to do. Sparrow is learning that settling down can be just as rewarding as being on the move!

🐾 Meet Pawley

Did you know Boykin Spaniels were bred to work all day in the field? Their intelligence, energy, and eagerness to please make them fantastic training partners, but they also need an outlet for that busy brain!

Training isn't just about teaching commands. For active breeds like the Boykin, training provides mental enrichment, builds confidence, and strengthens the bond between you and your pup!

Try teaching a new trick this week, practicing a "place" cue during dinner, or turning mealtime into a training session. Even 5-10 minutes of focused learning can make a huge difference in your dog's behavior and happiness.

"Stay” is more than just keeping your dog in one spot; it teaches patience, impulse control, and focus. 🐾

Start small:
✔️ Short duration
✔️ Low distractions
✔️ Reward often

Success comes from building confidence step by step.

Remember: breaking the stay just means the exercise was too hard, not that your dog is being “bad.” Training should feel like a win for both of you.

🐾 Little dog, BIG brain. 💡

Frenchies may be known for their goofy personalities, but they LOVE learning when training is made fun and rewarding. Sam here is learning to wait at the door, recall, and to walk on a leash outside. 🐶

Training isn’t just about obedience; it’s about teaching your pup how to navigate the world with you. Even the stubborn little gremlins!

Hardware store? More like a dog training goldmine. 🐾

Look at Gigi on a socialization adventure through Lowe's! Nothing tests your "leave it" cue like an aisle full of garden hoses.

Loud sounds, forklifts, carts rolling by, strangers asking to say hi, it's basically a real-world training course wrapped in lumber and paint samples.

Tips for your next Lowe's adventure:
✔ Bring high-value treats
✔ Go during off-peak hours
✔ Let your dog sniff and explore at their pace
✔ Keep sessions short and positive
