Welcome, Dr. Ameer! 👋
Dr. Claire, Reza', and all the staff are delighted to welcome our newest associate veterinarian, Dr. Ameer Hamza, to the Charlestown Animal Hospital. Like Dr. Olu, Dr. Ameer "won the USCIS Lottery" and joins us courtesy of the H-1B employer-sponsored work visa program.
Dr. Ameer earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore, Pakistan — one of the oldest veterinary institutions in the region, founded in 1886. He graduated and passed his NAVLE exam in May 2024, the second Pakistani veterinarian ever to pass the US-required NAVLE before graduating! Until moving here to Charlestown in October, he worked as a small animal veterinarian in Pakistan, developing practical skills in medicine, surgery, and emergency care. He approaches each case with care, curiosity, and a commitment to client-centered practice.
Before joining Charlestown Animal Hospital, Dr. Ameer was involved in community-based animal welfare and TNVR efforts, which helped shape his interest in public and animal health. He believes in gentle, fear-free handling and aims to make every visit as calm and comfortable as possible for patients and their families.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ameer loves cricket (local players are always welcome for a friendly match) and enjoys cooking—especially Indian-Pakistani dishes like biryani, karahi, and chicken pulao, which he looks forward to sharing with new friends.
Dr. Ameer is joined by his wife and classmate, Dr. Sana Chaudhari, who is also a veterinarian (though not an employee here,... yet... You may see her "job shadowing" periodically until then.) Together, they are excited to make New Hampshire their new home and to be a part of the Charlestown community.
