ONLY THE STRONG WILL PREVAIL 💔
Kiyah our rockstar 50lb Pyrenees / Hound developed a new invasive pneumonia pretty quickly after her weekend away in boarding.

Despite vet appointments she rapidly declined and now has spent her second night hospitalized at BluePearl Summerville on oxygen fighting.

Frankly she is miserable. 😭

She has efforted breathing, she isn’t eating, she’s terrified of her surroundings and worse, she needs oxygen to breathe.

Current bill is $5800.

Prayers for Kiyah. Her foster family & village is so worried about her.

LEFT BEHIND… BUT NOW HE IS SAFE!
A day ago, we learned about a dog who was abandoned when his family moved away. They packed up their lives and left… and Walter sat there watching them go, waiting for the people he loved to come back for him.

But they never did. 💔

Thankfully, a kind stranger made sure he had food and kept an eye on him while desperately trying to find help before he ended up in a shelter. Then an amazing foster stepped up, and yesterday Walter made it to safety.

Despite everything this boy has been through… he is SUCH a good dog.

His foster shared this update after his very first night safe indoors:

“Good morning! He did great last night. I got him inside and he went right to the bed I had out for him. I only heard him once all night and he was playing with a toy. We walked a mile this morning and he did pretty well on a leash. He prefers to be outside and will not go inside on his own.”

Imagine that for a second. A dog who was left behind still trying so hard to be good. Still gentle. Still trusting. Still grateful for a soft bed and a toy.

You can tell he’s confused. You can tell he’s been hurt. But you can also tell all Walter wants is love and reassurance that he’ll never be abandoned again.

Now we need help giving him the care he deserves.

Walter will need full vetting, vaccines, preventatives, exams, and maybe additional medical care. Our rescue has been hit with multiple medical emergencies recently, and we are struggling to keep up with the costs.

Meet Prince Florian!
10 months old • Great Pyrenees mix • 61lbs • Professional Guardian & Part-Time Comedian

Prince Florian arrived as a stray, and while he clearly missed the memo about “house rules,” he absolutely understood the assignment of being lovable. This handsome young guardian is equal parts majestic protector and goofy teenage chaos gremlin.

Florian loves EVERYONE — people, dogs, cats, chickens, horses, even the pot-bellied pig. He’s playful, social, funny, and fully convinced that barn rags, brushes, and anything left unattended are treasures meant specifically for him. Thankfully, he steals more than he destroys. 😅

As a young Great Pyrenees, he’s still learning things like:
• chewing on appropriate items (sorry about the coffee table 🙃)
• crate training
• that countertops are not self-serve buffets

But he responds very well to a firm “no,” and he’s eager to be part of whatever his people are doing.

Florian is already showing excellent guardian instincts and would thrive with someone who understands livestock guardian breeds — especially a home with land, animals, or a small farm. He currently lives peacefully with multiple animals and takes his “security detail” duties very seriously.

He is smart, athletic, and yes… capable of climbing a 4’ fence like it’s merely a suggestion. However, he has done wonderfully respecting a Halo collar/satellite fence setup and responds consistently to guidance.

He’s not food aggressive, he’s incredibly affectionate, and honestly… someone is going to fall in love with this boy immediately.

Prince Florian doesn’t need perfection — he needs structure, patience, room to mature, and a home that appreciates the hilarious, loyal, independent spirit that comes with a Great Pyrenees.

If you know the breed, you know they aren’t just dogs… they’re personalities. And this prince has a BIG one. 🤍

FREEDOM!!!!!
After 1,223 days in the shelter, Cheyanne is finally free. 🙌

Cheyenne had been in the shelter since January 21, 2023, growing up behind kennel walls while waiting for her chance at a real life. This Thursday, she finally got her freedom ride.

Now she’s headed to a rescue sanctuary in North Carolina — a huge farm where dogs can run, roam, and simply be dogs. After spending so long confined, she can finally stretch her legs, feel the grass beneath her paws, and enjoy the life she always deserved.

Because of the power of social media shares and the people who refused to give up on her, Cheyenne’s story got the happy ending we all hoped for. This sweet girl is finally free. ❤️

Cats, however, may fall under her “things I should chase immediately” category, so feline roommates should probably come with a disclaimer and protective gear.

Jack came to us from a hoarding situation where he lived with 29 other dogs, so so much of the world is still new to him. Even with that background, he’s already showing us what a fun, smart, and lovable boy he is.

This three year old is playful, spunky, full of personality, and really starts to shine once he feels comfortable. Jack is looking for a patient home that will continue helping him build confidence and show him what love and stability feel like.

He does best with female dogs or submissive male dogs and would thrive with someone willing to give him time to settle in and decompress at his own pace. Considering everything he’s been through, Jack has come such a long way already, and we know he has so much potential.

He deserves a chance to finally experience the happy, secure life every dog should have 🐶

Bear is almost four months old, weighs just 10 pounds, and is truly tiny but mighty. Basically a pocket-sized brown bear. He’s a total ladies’ man, looks incredibly handsome in a bow tie, and honestly might be the best accessory to any outfit. 🎀

If you’re lucky enough to meet Bear out and about, you’ll quickly notice how chill and observant he is. He loves taking in the world with calm confidence and absolutely adores being held and snuggled. Don’t let his size fool you — this little guy has a BIG personality.

Bear loves making friends with big dogs, although he would appreciate it if they stopped stepping on him. After all, how could anyone miss the tiny royalty at their feet?

When Bear plays, he gets hilariously vocal, and I dare anyone not to laugh at the adorable sounds he makes. He truly lives up to his name — a fluffy, little brown bear through and through. 🤎

Based on his age and current size, we don’t think Bear will be a large breed. We think he’ll stay a small package… and everyone knows the best things come in small packages.

The rare puppy who somehow manages to be both the life of the party and your future couch cuddle champion! 🩵

At just 4–5 months old and 31 pounds, this Lab mix is growing into the perfect medium-to-large-sized best friend with a personality that’s already incredibly well-balanced.

Pluto loves making new friends, whether they walk on two legs or four, and he brings a happy tail and goofy charm everywhere he goes. He’s playful and fun without being nonstop chaos, and for a puppy his age, he already has an impressive “off switch.” After a good play session, he’s perfectly content to curl up beside you for snuggles and a movie marathon. 🍿
