What a fun group class we had today! 🐾☀️

Our dogs and handlers spent the morning socializing, sharpening old skills, and learning some new ones while working around plenty of real-world distractions.

Group class is such a great opportunity to take the skills learned during training and put them to work around other dogs, people, movement, and excitement. From holding positions and maintaining focus to working together as a team, everyone did a fantastic job! 👏🐶

I love seeing the progress these teams continue to make and, of course, getting everyone together for some training and fun!

Great job today, everyone! ❤️🐾

Papa & Milo are back at it!

Today was Milo’s first e-collar session, and the difference in his attention was already noticeable. Instead of pulling Papa around and setting the pace himself, Milo was checking in, slowing down, and learning to walk at Papa’s pace.

Not long ago, a walk like this would’ve been stressful for both Theo and his owner.

Today, he’s showing off his heel, sit-stay, and off-leash skills around Park Circle. Consistent training has completely changed the way he experiences the world, and it’s been incredible to watch. So proud of this handsome boy!

One of the biggest game changers for dogs like Ruba isn’t always more physical exercise—it’s mental exercise. Problem-solving, training games, scent work, even simple yet functional obedience exercises and learning new skills can tire a dog’s brain in ways that endless running simply can’t.

Safe to say today’s enrichment session was a success for Ruba, a sweet, high-energy 2.5-year-old Pit Bull/Staffie/Shepherd mix.

A tired mind often leads to a calmer, happier dog at home.

If your dog always seems to have endless energy, anxiety or restlessness they may not need more miles—they may just need a job to do.

🐾 Milo & Papa – Session #2 🐾

Milo is about 1½ years old and has officially decided that if Papa is going somewhere, he should get there fast. 😅

So Papa decided his grand-dog needed a few manners.

Today we continued working on loose-leash walking and heel position so Milo learns to stay with his handler instead of pulling ahead. More importantly, we’re helping keep Papa’s back safe and making their walks together enjoyable for both of them.

For only their second session, Milo made some great choices and is already starting to understand that staying connected pays off. ❤️

Training isn’t just for puppies—it’s about creating a safer, more enjoyable life together at any age.

Mae recently wrapped up her 2-week on-leash obedience board & train, and I’m so proud of the progress she’s made.

During her stay, we focused on building strong foundations—engagement, leash skills, confidence, structure, and clear communication. Like most puppies her age, Mae came in full of energy and curiosity. Over the last two weeks, she’s learned how to work through distractions, settle into structure, and look to her handler for guidance.

This past week, I met with her family to begin transitioning everything she’s learned into everyday life at home. Training doesn’t stop when the board ends—it’s an ongoing partnership built on consistency, communication, and trust.

Most importantly, Mae is still the same happy, playful puppy she was on day one.

Thank you to her family for trusting me with her. I can’t wait to watch her continue to grow.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that socialization means dogs need to physically interact with every person or dog they meet. It doesn’t.

True socialization is learning to remain calm, neutral, and engaged with their handler while the world happens around them.

Exercises like this help dogs practice patience, build confidence, and learn that they don’t need to greet, play with, or react to everything they see. In many cases, this type of socialization is far more valuable than uncontrolled interactions at places like dog parks.

These dogs aren’t being “held” in position—they understand the task and are choosing to stay committed to it despite distractions.

Training isn’t about creating robots. It’s about creating calm, confident, reliable dogs that can navigate real life with their owners.

Mae is 5 months old and currently spending 2 weeks with me for an on-leash obedience board & train while her parents are on vacation.

Right now we’re focusing on building strong foundations — leash skills, engagement, confidence, structure, and clear communication. Once she finishes her board & train, we’ll move into the off-leash portion through private 1-on-1 sessions with her parents to help transition everything into everyday life at home.

And of course, even at “school,” puppies still need playtime breaks! ☀️🎾🐾
