Information Wednesday: Knowledge that keeps you one step ahead. 🦠
This week is over Distemper! Puppies and dogs are often most likely to become infected through exposure to the virus from an infected dog or wild animal. This can happen through sneezing, coughing, or shared water bowls or other items. Once a dog becomes infected dogs will shed the virus through body fluids like respiratory droplets, salivating, or urine.
The best way to prevent distemper is through vaccination done by your veterinarian. Distemper is considered a “core” vaccine and is recommended for all dogs!
