Some adoptions stay with us forever, and Bennie’s will certainly be one of them.

Earlier this year, Bennie came into our care emaciated, covered in abscesses, in need of a dental, and scared and defensive. But with time, patience, and a foster home where he could finally feel safe, we got to see who Bennie really was.

His foster described him as an absolute lover who would literally hug you back. She watched him become so gentle and loving that he even helped socialize other cats in her home. In her words, “You’d swear he’d step on a bug and apologize to it for his bad manners.”

And then his people came along. As soon as they met Bennie, his new family saw the same sweet, gentle soul his foster had come to know and love. They fell in love with him, and Bennie’s long journey to his forever home was finally over.

His foster shared that this was the hardest adoption she has ever done, but knowing Bennie finally has the loving home he waited so long for made saying goodbye worth it.

This is what fostering makes possible. You give them a safe place to land, help them heal, learn who they really are, and love them until the family they’ve been waiting for comes along.

Some kittens are ready to love you immediately. Blake Ewadar is looking for someone who understands that the best relationships are sometimes the ones you earn.

Blake was rescued from an outdoor cat colony, so indoor life and human affection are still relatively new to him. He is a sweet little kitten learning that people can be safe. Give him gentle, long pets from head to tail, add in some good scratches, and you’ll start to see his personality shine.

Blake LOVES other cats and must have a feline companion in his forever home. Having another kitty around gives him companionship and confidence He also loves wand toys and is absolutely still a playful kitten!

“Free” kittens are adorable… but they’re rarely actually free. 🐱💸

A kitten being given away for free online may not cost anything to bring home, but they still need essential veterinary care. Spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, and microchipping can quickly add up to $350–$460 or more.

The prices shown here are estimates based on lower-cost veterinary clinics. At a traditional full-service veterinary hospital, these same services can be significantly more expensive.

When you adopt from Saving One Life, your $200 adoption fee includes that essential care. Our kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV tested, dewormed, treated for ear mites, and receive age-appropriate vaccines.

Your adoption fee also goes beyond your new best friend, it helps us provide food, shelter, medical care, and a second chance to the next cat or kitten who needs us.

So before picking up that “free” kitten, consider adoption instead. You may save money while supporting rescue and, most importantly, saving a life. 🐾

One of the best parts about meeting cats at Kitty Pause? They get to hang out in a big, open space where you can meet them in their element. 💙 Watch them play, explore, interact with other cats, curl up for naps, and most importantly, see which kitty decides you’re their person.

Some cats wait longer simply because they come with a best friend. ☀️ 🏖️

Meet Sandy & Sunny Summer, two beautiful sisters who have been together since birth. They were adopted together as kittens, but recently found themselves back in our care through absolutely no fault of their own. Now, at just 2 years old, they’re searching for their forever home all over again… together. 🏡

Bonded pairs often take longer to find homes, and adult bonded pairs can wait even longer. But we wish more people knew just how special adopting a pair can be. You’re not just bringing home two cats, you’re bringing home two wonderfully unique personalities who already love, comfort, entertain, and provide companionship for one another. They have a built-in playmate, cuddle buddy, and source of confidence whenever their humans aren’t around.

And with Sandy & Sunny, you get the best of both worlds: one gorgeous tuxedo and one beautiful snowshoe!

Sandy is the brave, outgoing sister who quickly decides you’re her new best friend. She’s incredibly affectionate and helps Sunny feel safe in new situations. Sunny lets her sister lead the way, but once she realizes you’re one of the good ones, she’s every bit as loving. Give them a few days to settle in, and you’ll have double the rubbing, double the purring, and double the love.

We truly cannot understand how these two babies keep getting overlooked!

Oreo-Cookie Frosting & Mouse Summerville are the kind of bonded pair adopters dream about. They love people, love other cats, do well with dogs, and are great with kids. They’re affectionate, playful, social, and already have a built-in best friend. 🤍🖤🩶

Mouse is the sweet little lady of the pair, happiest chasing wand toys, pouncing, playing with Oreo, and rewarding you with her adorable purr. Oreo is her goofy, outgoing counterpart who loves everyone he meets, gives kitty kisses, wrestles with Mouse, and will happily keep you laughing with his antics.

Together, they’re the perfect balance: they entertain each other when you’re busy, love their humans when you’re home, and curl up together when it’s time to recharge.

They’ve watched other cats find their families while they continue to wait, and we genuinely don’t know why. They are simply wonderful kittens.
