Sometimes, saving one tiny life really does take a village. ā¤ļø
Recently, three of our volunteers (who dedicate countless hours to trapping, fostering, and saving cats) finally found time to grab lunch together after nearly two years of trying to coordinate a get-together.
And wouldnāt you know itā¦ a tiny kitten needed saving in the very same parking lot.
As they were leaving lunch, they noticed a small crowd gathered around a car. Two kindhearted strangers had spotted a kitten hiding inside the engine and were desperately trying to find help. A police officer had joined in, and a cashier had even recruited a woman wearing a āBe Kind to Street Catsā shirt!
Before long, the parking lot was filled with people who had never met, all working toward the same goal. Strangers held nets around the car, offered tools, and helped figure out how to reach the frightened kitten tucked away above the wheel well.
After lots of teamwork, patience, and determination, that precious little girl was finally SAFE!

Despite hitching a ride for quite some distance inside a car engine, Lexus miraculously escaped without injury! Sheās now enjoying the good life with one of our wonderful fosters, where sheās proven to be an absolute sweetheart and quite the little purr machine. Sheās THRIVING, soaking up all the love she can get, and will be available for adoption soon!
But perhaps the most beautiful part of this story isnāt just how Lexus was saved. Itās how many people stopped what they were doing to help save her. People who didnāt know each other. People who had somewhere else to be. People who simply saw a little life in need and decided it mattered.
And three of our volunteers, who had finally taken a moment for themselves, somehow ended up exactly where they were needed most.ā¤ļø
