I have had one cancelation this spring and have a rare opening to take a new dog immediately.

If you have a retriever puppy you want to get ready for next hunting season or just a dog (of almost any breed) that needs some obedience training so you can enjoy your time with them, I’d love to help.

My schedule is booked solid through the summer with gun dogs and several older dogs returning for a tune up….this is the time to get started….I may not have another kennel opening in 2026.

Jason Huddleston and his dog Remi have just completed the 4 month started gun dog program and they have BOTH put in the work for solid control and retrieve mechanics….they are working great together as a team.

Jason is going to continue to come train with me a couple of times a month thru the spring and summer….they will be more than ready for the dove fields in September!

If you need help getting a dog ready for next season….I will I’ll have a few open kennels for April and May and would love to help you get a handle on your retrieve puppy and build a solid foundation for field work.

Hudson Hykel and Zero were here putting in the work this morning 👊🏼

Zero is fresh out of Force Fetch….we are working on steadiness drills and exposing him to lots of single marks through decoys at various distances and levels of cover.

He is putting it all together really fast….we are already planning his first ‘real hunt’ around Christmas or New Year’s…..which is good because Hudson is tired of having to swim out there and retrieve all the ducks he has been shooting😎

This is six-and-a-half-month-old Shadow, owned by Hunter Holland and Anna Fugate (soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Holland🥰).

Shadow is from a breeding that Toby Ridings and I put together between my personal dog Squeaky and Toby’s personal guide dog Boogie (the most talented, high-drive female I’ve ever had the pleasure of training).

We knew this cross had the potential to be something special, and we were excited to see what both mom and dad would bring to the table.

Shadow has been the perfect example of everything we hoped for. He’s got the retrieve desire, the controllability, and the team-player mindset that make a dog fun to train and even more fun to hunt with. He’s incredibly biddable, and he shows an enormous amount of control for a 6.5-month-old puppy.

We’re now completely finished with obedience, collar conditioning, and force fetch, so we’re on to all the fun field work from here. I cannot wait to see what this dog becomes…he’s the real deal….expect to see lots of pictures with Shadow and piles of 🦆 in the near future.

If anyone bought a puppy out of this breeding, I’m offering 20% off my monthly rate for training. I’d especially love the opportunity to work with a female from this litter. I’ve already got three of the males in the program (or will be seeing them often), so I can keep close tabs on that side of the genetics. But I’d love to see how the temperament and trainability show up in the females as well.

If things continue the way they’re looking, I’m hoping I can talk Toby into repeating this breeding in a year or two. What we’ve got here with Shadow is something special👊🏼

Got a Christmas Puppy who's running the house?

I’ve got one spot left for an obedience dog this spring. Training starts mid-April and wraps up just in time for Memorial Day Weekend—perfect timing to enjoy a well-mannered dog all summer long.

Gun Dog training is full for the spring and most of the summer, but I’m taking reservation deposits for Obedience Dogs in June, July, and August. Space is limited and usually fills up fast.
