First of all, I apologize to all of our new and future followers. Meta is doing a thing now where it will spam you with a DM on new follow, and so far I, nor Meta's own AI helper can figure out how to turn it off. It's annoying. I'm probably more annoyed about it than you are lol
Secondly, what I actually wanted to talk about:
In this picture is Plato. Plato is our intact stud, and the father of all the kittens that have been featured lately. Very recently, we found him unresponsive, cold, and lethargic in a litter box. We started warming him immediately, before transporting him to the ER. He has made a full recovery, to spare you from the anticipation. He had a urinary blockage, and while was seemingly fine a mere hours before, here we were finding him at death's door.
Thankfully, at the time, Whisker's app was blowing me up that something was going on with the litter box we found him in. Obviously this was because it couldn't cycle due to there being a cat in it for a period. It may sound like shilling, but I am genuinely grateful for them because we likely would have just found him passed away otherwise. It's not uncommon to not see or hear from one or more of our cats for hours at a time as they find a hidey hole to sleep in, or a sunbeam in another room. So truly, thank you for that Litter-Robot by Whisker
Once at the ER, he was very rapidly tended to. There was practically no delay between when we walked in with him wrapped in blankets and a snuggle safe, and when he was in the back getting worked on. Given the circumstances I believe we were nearly out of time, so any further delay may have meant this went another direction. So, absolutely again, thank you for that
It was good news all around once he was stabilized and on the road to recovery, and luckily ended up not needing surgery as he was able to be flushed out by catheter, and the remnants passed and/or dissolved on their own according to our normal veterinary office. Now he is back to his old self. Noisy, addicted to catnip, and still mad he has to wear a diaper.
It's things like this that make this hard. It's not just a hobby - This is our family.
