It has been a very tough week for everyone at JEM Farm. I have thought all week on what to say.
We lost a shining star, who lit up the world with her smile, always so positive and someone all the younger students looked up to. Kennedy loved her mare Nevaeh. I still remember when they first came to the barn, both so inexperienced...through the past 9 years it has been such a treat to watch them grow into the team they became. At one point we asked Kennedy..if she wanted a different horse, to achieve higher goals. But she decided that she wanted Nevaeh she was her heart horse and they would grow together, she never gave up on that spunky girl. She attended 3 shows this year, growing more proud of her girl with each show. She felt her last show was her best ever. She was so looking forward to fair to not only be with Nevaeh but also all her 4-H and JEM farm families. It was never about the ribbons but just being with her horse and friends. It would be her final show before heading off to college.
That Friday morning she spent time riding, bathing and enjoying time with Nevaeh...She had a great time with her at one point just stopping and standing and gazing out the indoor. It was a perfect moment with the two of them that I will never forget.
Kennedy we miss you, we will never forget you, you live on in the lives of all the people you touched in so many ways. You truly were a bright star that will never be diminished or forgotten. Nevaeh will continue to be spoiled the way you spoiled her. She is being spoiled many specials treats which we will tell her are from you. And of course she deserves them.
RIP Kennedy we know you are riding with the Angels now. I will miss that sweet smile so much.
