We are a full service Hunter/Jumper barn conveniently located at the intersection of the 91 and 605 freeways in Cerritos, CA. We specialize in creating winning teams of horse and rider, starting with a child’s first lesson on one of our safe lesson horses all the way to capturing blue ribbons at both county level and A/AA level competitions! Our knowledgable staff works diligently to prepare your

horse to preform at their absolute best, with top level feed, grooming care and consistent training. Please private message or email us for current training rates! Our lesson program is designed for the rider just beginning their journey! We have five wonderful school horses, ranging from ponies to learn the absolute basics, to horses well schooled in jumping courses. Lessons in our School Program are either 30 minute private or 45 minute-1 hour long group lessons. At First Field, we stress the importance of learning horsemanship, so we instruct our riders on how to properly care for their horses both prior to and after their mounted lesson. We are now offering Summer Camp! Ages 6-13, Monday through Friday 9:30pm-3:30pm! Please private message us for more details! Stop by the barn and meet our team!

First Field Farm had another fantastic weekend at Gold Coast Labor Day!

Partly Cloudy, owned by Valerie Downing, ridden by Emma Lourits, took champion in the .60s , and reserve champion in the .70s.

Crack One, owned by Ixchel Mosley, ridden by Kaitlyn Pham, took reserve champion in the 2’3” adult hunters, and took home 🥈 in the 2’6” adult equitation.

Jolijt, owned by Lorri Quiett, ridden by Abigail Goodrich, took 🥉 in the 2’ derby, and took 2nd and 3rd in the 2’3” adult hunters.

Autumn Colours, owned by First Field Farm, ridden by Marissa Mize, stepped up to the 2’6” together for the first time, taking home 5th and 6th.

Pepe Le Pew, owned by Janene Davis, ridden by Daniella Hynes, did great in their first show together, earning two 🥉’s in the crossrail division.

Only Dark Skies, owned by First Field Farm, ridden by Mina Woodward, had a great first horse show! They took home 🥈,🥉, and 4th in the crossrails.

Autumn Colours, owned by First Field Farm, ridden by Brianna Vasquez - Bergk, had super rounds in the 2ft child hunters, taking 5th and 6th.

A horse show so great it needs two posts!

Last weekend Stylish, owned by Nancy Mynott, ridden by Juliette Joffroy competed in the Children’s Hunters at the Bluegrass Festival at KHP. This pair had beautiful rounds all weekend, with a score of 84 in the classic round! They also earned an 85 in the THIS medal! Great job Juliette and Stylish!!

We are so proud of Nancy Mynott’s American bred mare, Stylish. Bred by Hooves LLC, this fantastic 2018 mare by Casall competed in the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Finals last week.

Stylish went around like a seasoned pro, even though this was her first time on this stage. Thank you Jamie Sailor for all your wonderful rides on Stylish! You made her shine!

First Field Farm has had the honor in training Stylish since 2024, and we are excited to continue developing this young horse.

We wanted to give our students Mia, Maggie, Lily, and Ela, a big shoutout for attending Foxfield Riding Camp this summer!

These girls spent 12 days immersed in the equestrian sport, getting to try different riding disciplines and learning more about horsemanship. At the end of the two weeks, they got to compete in a show!

Team First Field Farm enjoyed being back in LA for Pacific Ridge Show Jumping summer 1!

Stylish, owned by Nancy Mynott and ridden by Jamie Sailor, took home 2nd in the $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, only being half a point behind 1st. Stylish also took Champion in the 3’3/ 3’6 combined Green Hunter, and Champion in the 3’3 CPHA Green Hunter Incentive.

Stylish was also very successful with rider Juliette Joffroy, taking Champion in the Children’s Hunter.

Jolijt, owned by Lorri Quiett and ridden by Juliette Joffroy, took home Champion in the 12-14 Equitation, and also had great rounds in the Children’s Hunters. A great first horse show for this pair!

Moonface, owned by First Field Farm and ridden by Jamie Sailor, took home 8th in the 1.35m Open Classic.

Partly Cloudy, owned by Valerie Downing and ridden by Emma Lourits, had a great week in the .65s and .70s, taking home multiple 2nds.

Luciano, owned and ridden by Raquel Wright, had wonderful rounds in the 2’ hunters and equitation all week!

Congratulations to Nancy Mynott and her horse Stylish! Stylish is currently the leading horse in the 3’ Green Hunter division in Zone 10. This amazing American bred mare is also standing 4th in the nation for the division!

Team First Field Farm had another great horse show at Gold Coast Horse Shows this past Sunday!

Emotion, owned and ridden by Savannah Kerwin, earned reserve champion in her first time in the 2’3” hunters!

Starlet’s Dream, owned by Lindsay Dunn, ridden by Brynn Miller, placed in all their classes, winning both the 2’6” hunters, and the 2’9” Eq Flat.

Crack One, owned by Ixchel Mosley, ridden by Kaitlyn Pham took 1st in the 2’ hunter class, 5th in the 2’ hunt and go classic, and placed in all their 2’3” hunter rounds!

Autumn Colours, owned by First Field Farm, ridden by Brianna Vazquez - Bergk, did a great job at their first horse show together, placing in all their classes in the crossrail and 2’ divisions!

Adagio, owned and ridden by Monica Hykes, continues to improve, earning ribbons in all their classes! Great job Monica!

First Field Farm had a great Labor Day weekend at KA Productions horse show!

Autumn Colours, owned by First Field Farm, ridden by Marisa Mize won reserve champion in the 2’ rusty stirrup hunters!

Don’t Blink, owned and ridden by Sara and Andrea Taylor, had a fantastic first horse show for this young horse! They won 1st in the .70 jr/am, as well as placed in all other classes!

Partly Cloudy, owned by Valerie Downing, ridden by Emma Lourtis, had a great first horse show together, jumping clear and earning reserve champion in the .65m jumpers!

Crack One, owned by Ixchel Mosley, ridden by Brook Drake, had great show as well, earning 2nd in the 2’ long stirrup under saddle, as well as 4th in the 2’ derby!

Push Play, owned by Maryann Engel, ridden by Emma Harlow also rode in the 2’ long stirrup division, earning a 6th!

Luciano, owned and ridden by Raquel Wright won 3rd and 5th in the crossrail division, as well as placing in both of her 18” classes!

Emotion, owned and ridden by Savannah Kerwin, won 1st in the 2’ long stirrup, 3rd in the under saddle, and 6th in the 2’ derby!
