I got this email today from parents who adopted 2 of the boys in the available litter. Wanted to share the kind words.
Dear Miss Robbi
The boys are doing terrific! The classic tabby is named Matic (Automatic). He is an eater! The 4WD one is named Nobyl (Chernobyl). He is a purrer and cuddler! We were paying homage to their Russian father when naming them.
The kittens are well-adjusted already. Playing hard and sleeping hard. They did well with their first baths at our house. They already have "their" chairs picked out to sleep on in the kitchen.
Our other Maine C**n, Blossom, has been very accepting. She is somewhere between an overseer and a mother at this point. The boys would like to cuddle with her, but she is not to that point yet. Our other gutter/pound cat is warming up. She wants to play with them, and then she doesn't. She wants to see them and be in the room with them, though. Hopefully, she will become their wrestling buddy. She has missed doing that the past six months. She needed a playmate(s) badly!
We did not tell our children that we got new kittens until Saturday (September 19, 2026). We were contemplating not telling them at all. We were just going to let them "find" them when they returned home for a visit. They were so excited about the kittens! Our son didn't even do his "sigh" and ask "why we got more cats because we don't need more cats". They are both looking forward to seeing and playing with them, actually said it out loud. They are so excited about the kittens that they will be visiting us in about two weeks to play with the boys. We had not expected to see our children until November. We Face-timed the kids on Saturday because they wanted to see the kittens in action, and to hear them meow, purr, and trill. Our daughter kept saying how cute they were, over and over, again and again. She said they looked AI, like computer generated Maine C**ns because of their appearance. They looked like perfect examples of the breed. That is a pretty convincing selling point - getting your adult children to visit you to see the new kittens!
As always, thank you for allowing us to visit your cattery and homestead. Both are immaculate and inviting. Thank you (and Jerry) for being such dedicated Maine C**n cat breeders. Your cats are always beautiful, healthy, well-adjusted, and personable. I wish you continued success in all of your future endeavors.
