Our adoption application and requirements can be found at www.centraliahumanesocietyil.org/adopt. We are a no kill animal rescue facility serving Marion County, IL. We require that potential adopters have their current/past pets taken to the vet yearly for vaccinations, and that dogs are on heartworm prevention 12 months out of the year. First time pet owners must agree to keeping the animals on h

eartworm prevention and getting yearly vaccinations. We are a small shelter run by a very small amount of people. Please be patient with us. Please also understand that there is only one of each animal and unfortunately only one home can be chosen. We choose homes that best suit each individual animal, not on a first-come-first-serve basis.

We love keeping up with CHS and seeing all the amazing animals they rescue. One of Cherylā€™s pups was actually adopted from the Centralia Humane Society! Please consider adopting a sweet pup or kitty from them!

CHS will receive all 10% donations from our clients for the month of September (10% of each client's total cost is donated).

Sweet Potato is around 2 or 3 years old. She is high energy so she would love to find someone who is high energy as well and maybe wants a traveling companion. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and preventatives. We would love to see Sweet Potato find a home where not only could she burn some energy and give all the love she has to give. A fenced in yard would be a plus since she loves to run with her assortment of toys. If you are interested please visit us in person, give us a call at 618-532-0489.
