Hayden Panettiere has died at only 36 years old.
Many of us watched her grow up in Heroes, Nashville, Scream, and so many other roles. But behind the fame and the smile was a real person facing real struggles.
Her story hits especially close to home because it reminds me of our Laura, who we lost three years ago. There are so many people quietly fighting battles we cannot see.
We see success. We see smiles. We see someone who appears to have everything together.
But we don’t always see the pain.
So how do we change the narrative?
We start by being kinder. We stop judging and start asking, “Are you okay? How can I help?”
We make it okay for someone to say, “I’m struggling. I need someone.”
And when they do—we listen.
Sometimes the people who appear the strongest are carrying the heaviest burdens.
Check on your friends. Check on your family. Listen without judgment and remind people that asking for help is not weakness.
We cannot change yesterday or bring back the people we’ve lost.
But maybe, together, we can change someone’s tomorrow.
Rest in peace, Hayden.
And Laura, you are still loved, missed, and remembered.
