☀️ Summer is almost here! ☀️

Warmer weather means it’s time to take extra precautions to keep your pets safe. Always provide plenty of fresh water, access to shade, and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Remember, our pets can overheat much faster than we do.

🐾 Never leave pets in a parked car.
🐾 Watch for signs of overheating, such as excessive panting or lethargy.

Let’s keep our furry friends happy, healthy, and cool all summer long! ❤️

Does anyone recognize me? This guy has been hanging around for a couple of days. He is an 11.5 year old neutered & declawed male. Has a microchip with the last name of Williams, but may not be current owner. He is very loving.

Environmental Allergies vs. Flea Allergic Dermatitis - It can be difficult to differentiate between seasonal allergies and flea allergic dermatitis. Here are some symptoms to watch out for:

🌿 Spring Allergies: Keep an eye out for symptoms like itching, sneezing, watery eyes, and skin irritation. Pets may also exhibit behaviors such as excessive scratching, licking, or chewing on their paws or skin. If you notice these signs, call us to schedule an appointment.

🚫 Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD): Flea allergy symptoms can be similar to those of spring allergies but may also include severe itching, redness, and inflammation, particularly around the base of the tail and along the back. Flea dirt (tiny black specks) may be visible on your pet's skin or fur. Prevention is key, so ensure your pet is on a regular veterinary recommended flea prevention regimen.
