🐾 Our boarding pups getting in some refresher training! 🐾

One of the perks of completing a Board & Train program with Got Your Six Dog Training is that we offer boarding exclusively to our program graduates! 🐶

So, why do we only board dogs that have been through our program? Great question! 👇

🐾 Familiar faces, less stress! We’ve already built a relationship with these dogs, and they’re comfortable in our facility and with our staff. Being somewhere familiar with people they know can make their stay much less stressful for everyone.

🐾 We know your dog! We understand their personalities, behaviors, preferences, and quirks. We know what makes them comfortable, what they enjoy, and what situations may be challenging for them.

🐾 We know what works! Since we’ve already trained your dog, we know which crate or kennel setup is best for them, what commands they understand, and what expectations they’re familiar with.

🐾 Consistency matters! We’ve spent time working with you, too, so we understand the training your dog has received and can help maintain those skills while they’re here.

There’s a big difference between caring for a dog you already know and bringing in a dog you’ve never met, whose behaviors, training, and needs are completely unfamiliar.

One of the biggest bonuses of going through our Board & Train program is building a lasting relationship with us! ❤️ Your dog isn’t just another boarding reservation. They’re one of our graduates, and we love seeing them come back, keeping up with their training, and enjoying their time with us!

At Got Your Six Dog Training, the relationship doesn’t end when your dog goes home. It’s something we continue to build every time they come back! 🐾🇺🇸

🔥🐕 A little glimpse into what we do in our spare time at Got Your Six Dog Training!

Meet Lethal, my personal Belgian Malinois, doing some protection bite work with me and one of our trainers! 💪 These dogs are incredibly intelligent, athletic, driven, and always looking for a job. Lethal is trained in personal protection and finding shed deer antlers, giving him an outlet for both his mind and his natural working abilities.

We absolutely love this breed, but let’s be honest — a Belgian Malinois is NOT your average house pet! 😂 These dogs need structure, training, exercise, and a purpose. They are incredibly smart, but that intelligence and drive need to be channeled in the right direction!

We wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at some of the things we enjoy doing in our spare time outside of our regular training programs. These dogs are truly amazing when their needs are understood and their abilities are given the right outlet.

Just to clarify, Lethal is my personal dog, and his protection training is a personal hobby. Got Your Six Dog Training does not offer protection training to the public.

We love working dogs, challenging ourselves, and showcasing just how incredible these breeds can be! 🐾🔥

How long and how far can your dog hold a down? 🐾

Look closely at those two little black dots out in the field… those are Blaze and Kona, holding a down with a LOT of distance and a LOT of duration. 👀

Tonight, these two worked on their impulse control, recall, distance, and duration — and they absolutely crushed it.

We were also able to do a lot of fully off-leash training, which is one of the biggest milestones in a dog’s training journey. Being able to trust your dog completely off leash, even with distractions all around, is something to be incredibly proud of. ❤️

At Got Your Six Dog Training, we believe training should go beyond simply teaching commands. We teach our clients how to build a reliable dog that can listen and respond off leash, at a distance, for duration, and around real-life distractions.

That’s the goal — not just a dog that listens when the leash is attached, but a dog you can trust when it matters.

Blaze and Kona, you guys are doing awesome! 👏🐕‍🦺

🐾 DAY ONE OF TRAINING! 🐾

These new pups just arrived yesterday, and they’re already off to a great start! 🐶❤️

Day one is all about getting to know each dog, building a relationship, and figuring out what they already know and where we need to focus our training. We spend plenty of time on long walks, letting everyone settle into their new environment while beginning to build that trust and connection.

And these pups are already showing us what they’ve got! 💪 Every single one is already working on their sits and downs from a distance outdoors! 📸🐕

We’re excited to see what these dogs accomplish as training progresses. Every dog is different, and we meet each one where they are, building a strong foundation for continued success!

Stay tuned for more updates as these pups begin their training journey with Got Your Six Dog Training! 🐾🇺🇸

🐾🎉 A BIG THANK YOU to our Advanced Group Class for joining us for our Fun-Filled Field Day! 🎉🐾

We had an absolute blast putting our obedience skills to the test with fun games, friendly competition, and plenty of tail wags! These games weren’t just fun for the dogs, but for their owners, too! 🐶❤️ This video is just a little glimpse of the fun we had together!

At Got Your Six Dog Training, we believe training doesn’t end when your dog goes home. That’s why every one of our Board & Train programs includes SIX follow-up classes to help you and your dog continue building on everything learned during training.

Here’s something we always want potential clients to understand: Anyone can work with your dog and teach them commands, but the real success comes from teaching YOU how to maintain that training and communicate with your dog.

A good trainer shouldn’t just hand you back a trained dog and send you on your way. They should be there to guide you, answer your questions, help you work through challenges, and give you the tools and confidence to succeed together long after your dog leaves their facility. 🐾💪

So, if you’re considering a Board & Train program, make sure you ask about follow-up classes! Your dog’s training journey doesn’t end when they come home. That’s where the teamwork really begins! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, and made our Field Day such a success! We love seeing our dogs and their owners continue to grow together!

Got Your Six Dog Training — because a well-trained dog starts with a well-prepared owner! 🇺🇸🐕

Gunther and Cas are finishing up their training with us, and these two boys have been putting in some serious work! 🐾💪

At Got Your Six Dog Training, we believe in real-life training. That means getting dogs out of the training environment and exposing them to new places, new people, new distractions, and situations they may encounter in everyday life.

It’s not just about teaching commands — it’s about shaping a new mindset, building confidence, and teaching dogs how to remain calm and make better choices when faced with something unfamiliar.

Both of these boys came to us with bite records, so learning to maintain a calmer mindset and safely coexist with new environments has been a huge part of their training.

Today, Gunther and Cas did an amazing job together! They handled new surroundings, public distractions, and everything we threw their way while maintaining their composure. And to top it off, they received so many compliments while we were out! ❤️

We couldn’t be more proud of the progress these two have made. Watching dogs change their mindset, gain confidence, and learn how to navigate the real world is exactly why we do what we do.

Keep up the great work, boys! You’ve come a long way! 🐾🇺🇸

🐾 Buddy is finishing up his final week of training with us, and today was all about PUBLIC ACCESS! 🐾

If you remember Buddy from our previous posts, you’ll remember that he came to us with some serious aggression issues. On his very first day, he had to be muzzled and was considered a very dangerous dog.

Fast forward almost 4 weeks… and look at this guy! 🥹👏🏼

Today we took Buddy to Tractor Supply to work through all of his obedience commands in a real-world public environment. He was calm, happy, confident, and able to peacefully coexist around all of the people throughout the store.

This is why we do what we do. ❤️

Watching a dog’s mindset and behavior change over the course of just a few weeks is absolutely incredible. Buddy has made a 360° turnaround, and we could not be more proud of the work he has put in.

He has gone from needing a muzzle because of serious aggression to confidently walking through a busy public environment, listening to his commands, and enjoying the experience.

We cannot wait for his owner to see just how much Buddy has learned and how many more opportunities this opens up for them to enjoy life together. 🐕❤️

Training takes time, consistency, structure, and commitment — but the results can be life-changing.

Way to go, Buddy! We are SO proud of you! 🐾👏🏼

Last night was so much more than an amazing event and a great show. For all of us at Got Your Six Dog Training, it was a truly heartfelt and unforgettable moment. ❤️🇺🇸🐾

We had the incredible honor of watching two of our service dogs be donated to two amazing Veterans who are in need of a service dog.

Milo, our German Shepherd, has been part of our lives since he was just ONE day old. We have watched him grow, learn, work, and become the incredible service dog he is today. It was an emotional moment seeing all that hard work come full circle as he was placed with a Veteran who will now have Milo by his side.

A huge thank you to K9s on the Front Line for helping make this possible and for finding Milo the Veteran he was meant to help. 🇺🇸

Then there is Rose, our beautiful Golden Retriever. Rose was donated to us back in February, and from the beginning, we knew she had something special. We saw the potential in her to make a difference in someone’s life, so we put in the time, training, and dedication to help her become the service dog she was meant to be.

Last night, we got to watch Rose begin her next chapter with a Veteran who needs her. And we want to give a heartfelt thank you to her previous owner for giving Rose a second chance and allowing her to go on to make someone else’s life better. ❤️

This is why we do what we do.

At Got Your Six Dog Training, it’s about so much more than training dogs.

It’s about second chances.

It’s about taking a dog who may need a new purpose and helping them discover what they were meant to do.

It’s about helping Veterans.

It’s about changing lives—both human and canine.

And sometimes, we get to stand back and watch two lives come together in a way that reminds us exactly why this work matters so much.

Milo and Rose, we are so incredibly proud of you. ❤️

Go change some lives. You’ve earned it. 🇺🇸🐾

Can you believe that just three days ago, these two arrived needing to be muzzled?

Both dogs came to us with bite histories and were living in a constant state of fear. Their fear often turned into unpredictable lunging and biting, especially around strangers. To them, creating distance from people was the only way they knew how to feel safe.

But this is something we want people to understand about dogs like these: behavior doesn’t happen without a reason.

Many dogs who display aggression aren’t simply “bad dogs.” They’re scared, overwhelmed, insecure, or have learned that reacting is the only way to protect themselves. Their minds are constantly on high alert, and they feel like they have to make decisions for themselves in order to survive the situations around them.

Over the past few days, our focus has been on much more than obedience. We’ve been working on building trust, creating structure, establishing routine, and helping these dogs understand that they don’t have to live in that constant state of fear anymore.

We teach them that they can look to their handlers for guidance. We correct the dangerous and unwanted behaviors, while also giving them the structure and consistency they need to begin building confidence.

And when that confidence starts to grow, something incredible happens.

Their minds begin to settle. They don’t feel like they have to react to everything around them. They start trusting the people handling them. They begin realizing that they don’t have to bite, lunge, or fight their way through every situation.

In just three days, we’ve already been able to build enough trust and establish enough of a relationship that we are no longer needing the muzzles during our work with them.

That doesn’t mean the journey is over—not even close. Dogs with this level of fear and aggression need time, consistency, and a lot of work. That’s exactly why we only accept dogs with these more serious behavioral issues into our four-week program. This isn’t something that can be rushed or magically fixed in two weeks.

But seeing progress like this reminds us why we love what we do.

We’re incredibly proud of these owners for giving their dogs a second chance. So many dogs in situations like this never get the opportunity to learn, grow, and become better versions of themselves.

We cannot wait to continue working with them over the next few weeks and see just how far they can go. Every day is another opportunity to build confidence, trust, and a healthier state of mind.

This is why we do what we do. 🐾🇺🇸
