Hangon Sloopy Kennel Breeding and training Wirehaired Pointing Griffons for hunting, versatility, temperament and health.

I have been lucky to have many great contacts and resources during the past 7 years being involved with hunting WPGs. Jamie Kuhn (Aspen Glo), Gary Engebretson (Firebird), Mike Schippa (Fuzzy Dog) and the late Philippe Roca (Des Vignes Rouges) are among just a few of the many kennels and breeders that have been extremely helpful as I became involved with the breed.

We want them to hunt and do all the things we do, prey drive, desire, instinct... But don't forget this too!

Our Mya girl underwent a successful surgery yesterday to remove a few masses we found while she was weaning her recent litter. It may not look like it here but she is doing well. A little sore but eating, drinking and getting some rest away from her heathen son.

Her having her last litter and us checking her for mastitis is hopefully a blessing in disguise that we caught this earlier rather than later.

The least emotional pick-ups are when you are certain you'll be shooting a pheasant over the puppy being picked up someday! Ms orange, selected early, was picked up today. See you soon Neva!

I have no doubt Neva, Deke, and Axle will be something else this winter out west together.

I can't thank everybody that's been a part of this process enough. Big thanks to Aspen Glo Kennel Jamie Kuhn, Elevage Duchasseur Kennel Steve Brodeur, Ripsnorter kennels Jeffrey George ,and ALL of our fantastic placement families...

And Izzy. I seriously don't think I could have managed this without you. You have been an unbelievable helper, puppy socializer, sandwich maker, puppy keeper tracker, tear sharer, and everything else!

Now go see what Axle is getting into!

Mr grey, Mr yellow, and Mr green all met their forever families today. And Ms Green and Ms White hopped rides with two of those families to soon meet up with theirs.

One more pickup to go (that was picked already that we have been hanging onto) and Izzy and I will feel like empty-nesters... More like time to start getting Axle house-trained!
