Sheā€™s in wonderful hands with Heather, one of our longtime Level 3 stylists. Heather brings years of experience and expertise to every appointment, along with the kind of care that comes from truly loving what she does. She looks after the whole experience: the pet in her care, and the people who trust us with them.

šŸŽ‰ Congratulations to our Salon Manager, Tricia, on being named A Clip Aboveā€™s September Employee of the Month! šŸŽ‰

Tricia goes above and beyond for her team every single day. She stepped into management because she wanted to help make the team at A Clip Above stronger and more successfulā€”to support each personā€™s growth, mentor them, and lead by example. She shows us what it looks like to keep learning, work hard, and strive to be our best.

Her commitment to education and growth shines through in everything she does. Tricia recently became a National Certified Groomer and is now working toward becoming a National Certified Master Groomer through A Clip Aboveā€™s Mastery Program. She recently traveled to Florida to continue working on her master groomer certification, and she was there cheering on and supporting our staff member Amanda, too.

Tricia also completed hand-stripping courses and is now qualified to provide hand-stripping services for dogs in our salon. She was a winning member of a team at our hand-stripping team-building workshop with Blake Hernandez, Jane Gallagher, and Lisa Hartā€”a wonderful example of how she embraces new challenges and grows alongside her team.

Our entire staff is grateful to have Tricia as a manager, mentor, and leader. She gives so much to this team, and weā€™re proud to celebrate her with this well-deserved recognitionā€”and so much more.

šŸ© What an incredible evening of learning!

A Clip Aboveā€™s Director of Education and Lead Mentor, Andrew Zuzma Ncmg, led a wonderful seminar for the Colorado Pet Groomers Association this past weekā€”his first seminar with the association. We had a fantastic turnout, and it was such a pleasure to meet and learn alongside so many Colorado groomers.

Andrew shared tips, tricks, breed history, and stories of Poodles throughout the agesā€”from their working roots as dogs of war to their roles as fierce protectors. He reminded everyone that Poodles are so much more than a fluffy coat! Andrew captivated the room throughout the evening and even stayed past the scheduled end to answer questions and keep the conversation going.

It was a successful night for Andrew, the association, and A Clip Above. Weā€™re proud to support continuing education for groomers and canā€™t wait to help create more opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together! āœ‚ļø

What a cute photo of these two adorable Pomskis. We absolutely loved grooming them and getting to dote on them during their visits. Their beautiful, fluffy coats and wonderful personalities made them such a joy to have in the shop.

Sadly, Loki passed away after these pictures were taken. He was a beloved pet and a favorite here at the shop, and heā€™ll be dearly missed. Sami loved grooming him, and weā€™re grateful we got to spend time with him. Sending lots of love to Lokiā€™s family. šŸ’™

āœ‚ļø The Lost Art of Hand Stripping Is Making a Comeback āœ‚ļø

As Amy says, hand stripping is ā€œa lost art making a comebackā€ā€”and sheā€™s helping bring it back by teaching our Mastery Class students this specialized skill.

Amy NCG has competed in hand stripping and is deeply knowledgeable about the craft. In this class, she shared her expertise with our groomers, teaching them how hand stripping can help maintain the health, texture, and appearance of certain terrier coats.

A Clip Above is proud to be one of the few salons offering this service to clients and their dogs. Every groomer in our Mastery Class is now a National Certified Groomer, and theyā€™re working toward their National Certified Master Groomer certifications. We love seeing this art passed on to the next generation of skilled groomers! šŸ¾
