Our boy BACCHUS AP and his trainer Katie Steiner never disappoint❗️

Bacchus AP advances to the US NATIONAL finals in Purebred Ranch Rail Riding to be held on Wednesday, 10-22-25 in Tulsa Oklahoma. It is truly a great thing to see a Staight Egyptian compete against the purebreds.

Bacchus and Katie won 1st place in Section A. He is generally in the Top 5 and to win the class was just amazing. Their skill just keeps improving. He will certainly be a top contender in the finals on Wednesday‼️

Just an FYI ……
If you have horses, you live with flies‼️
I was scrolling the other day and came across another DIY fly spray/repellent - PEPPERMINT AND WATER. I have tried so many DIY fly sprays (or repellents) it isn’t funny anymore. But what the heck, what’s one more “fly repellent experiment❗️

I am happy to report—— this one seems to work‼️ The recipe I found was 2 drops Peppermint essential oil in a normal size spray bottle and fill with water. So I put 15 drops Peppermint essential oil in a spray bottle and sprayed my food prep area. I sprayed two/three times per day. Didn’t really think it would work but I am happy to report that I have NO - ZERO - flies around my food prep area.

I now use a 1 gallon sprayer and have started spraying the food dish and water area in the stalls and it seems to working there as well. You’re never going to eliminate all flies in a stall but they are now concentrating on the back wall where the fly trap hangs❗️

Looking a little further, I see there are commercial Peppermint sprays, far more expensive than a $6 dollar bottle of Peppermint Essential Oil. I just have never heard of this hack before. Give it a try.

This made me smile yesterday as much as on the smile on his face….
Rich Benat has a passion for the Arabian horse and this year he has had Hip and Shoulder replacement sidelining his horse time but yesterday he wanted to put a leg over and walk with his homebred Bacchus AP and Katie Steiner. These horses are so special for our heart, soul and recovery.

Bacchus in His Ranch Riding Class today. First time he has been in a class with cows and he did pretty good❗️ Part of the challenge is opening and closing the gate which they did very nicely.
Great job Katie Steiner and Bacchus.
