Our tortoises will be outside enjoying the sunshine in their enclosure! 💛

We built a brand new platform in our cat condo and apparently it needed a very serious safety inspection before the cats could use it!

So naturally, our son volunteered as tribute to test out the ramp and make sure the platform was strong enough to hold a cat… or maybe he just wanted an excuse to climb and play on it. Either way, the new setup passed inspection!

We are always trying to improve our spaces and add more enrichment for the animals here at the sanctuary. Safe to say this new cat hangout is already a hit!

Our farrier is here today to trim the feet of our horses and donkeys! Hoof care is one of those routine things that often goes unnoticed, but it’s incredibly important for their comfort, health, and mobility.

Most of our equine residents have their feet trimmed every 6 weeks, but Grace, our beautiful Paint mare rescued from a cruelty case in 2022, requires a little extra care. Because she is still very uncomfortable having her feet handled due to her past, she must be safely sedated for her trims, which means additional expenses.

Yesterday, we kicked off our $2 Tuesday fundraiser to help cover today’s farrier bill, and we’re so grateful for everyone who has already donated. If you haven’t had a chance yet, there’s still time to help! A $2 donation may not seem like much, but when a lot of people come together, it makes a huge difference. And if you’re able to give a little more, we’re incredibly thankful for that too.

It truly takes a village to keep over 280 rescued animals happy, healthy, and receiving the care they deserve. Thank you for being part of ours. ❤️

$2 Tuesday! 🐴❤️

Tomorrow is farrier day at Freedom Farm, and we’re hoping to raise $450 to cover the cost.

Most of our horses and donkeys get their feet trimmed every 6 weeks, but Grace needs a little extra help. Grace came to us from a cruelty case in 2022 with severely overgrown hooves. She’s made so much progress since then, but hoof trims are still scary for her. To keep her safe and make sure our farrier can do a proper trim, our veterinarian comes out and sedates her during her appointment.

Between the farrier and the vet visit, tomorrow’s bill will be about $450.

Today, we’re asking for something simple. If you’re reading this and can spare just $2, would you consider donating it to help us cover tomorrow’s visit? Two dollars may not seem like much, but when a lot of people come together, it can make a huge difference. And if you’re able to give more, we’re incredibly grateful for that too.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. We also remember the countless animals who have faithfully served alongside them throughout history—horses, dogs, pigeons, and many others whose courage and loyalty helped save lives and support those on the front lines.

As we gather with family and friends and spend time enjoying the things we love, let us remember that these freedoms came at a tremendous cost.

Please take a moment today to reflect on and honor those who never made it home, both human and animal, and the sacrifices they made in service to others.

Today, we remember. Today, we honor. Today, we give thanks.

We’re excited to announce that Frosty’s Ice Cream is officially joining us for our 4th Annual Kid’s FUN FEST on June 20th! ❤️

Let’s be honest… what makes a summer event complete? Ice cream and water ice! Frosty’s will be here serving up delicious frozen treats to help everyone stay cool while enjoying a day full of fun at the sanctuary.

Come out and enjoy emergency vehicles you can tour, a bounce house, face painting, rock painting, wagon rides, a corn pit, games, our amazing rescued residents, and now… ice cream and water ice too! 🎉

This event gets bigger every year, and we can’t wait to see everyone on June 20th from 9 AM–4 PM!
