In an unverified internet article, it was written that ancient warriors in Asia used to sneak attack their enemies by throwing sh*tzus at them. They were the precursor to throwing stars, and the mental pictures of someone reaching deep into a pocket and pulling out a sh*tzu to throw honestly works.

Gibson would like to remind you on behalf of his family that today is World Down Syndrome Day! We had no idea that mismatched socks was a thing to do today, so we’re changing our socks now! (And adding that dogs love unconditionally, regardless of how many chromosomes a person has and we humans should do better with acceptance.)

Yes, all of these dogs came to ZenPaws on the same day. Each one has a different temperament, a different coat type and a different haircut length. (Which is one of the reasons that we charge by the hour and not breed type).

Fun fact (we’re not verifying it, just repeating it): The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was bred to keep the laps and feet of Russian royals warm… which is why they the perfect snuggle bugs. (Crosby and Winnie are happy to fulfill their royal responsibilities!)

Before the spring shave down begins in full, let’s talk about it…

Almost all groomers have a variation of these photos on their camera roll. A matted dog with picture evidence of why we had to shave short. We take these pictures because we have past experiences of owners who claim their dogs are not matted, and we have had to prove that the fur is, in fact, matted.

We shave because we need to, or by request, not for fun. We want what is best for your dog. ❤️
