For 35+ years, Synergy’s 1‑on‑1 positive training has helped dogs of all ages and needs; basic-complex behaviors, service dog, sports, and more. She studied Animal Science at SUU. She also studied under many behaviorists, veterinarians and trainers. She studied as an apprentice in canine behavior for 10 years. Together, Chino and Leisa have earned multiple AKC, BHCA and International awards and titles with their own dogs as well as dogs Leisa professionally handled for clients around the country. Leisa and Chino have also judged many AKC events such as Hunting Performance Test, Field Trials and show events. Their favorite training influences are Suzanne Clothier, Ian Dunbar, Susan Garrett,
Michael W. Fox and Karen Pryor. Leisa has owned multiple successful dog businesses including pet sitting, AKC Professional All Breed Handler, professional dog grooming, dog training and behavior consulting. All in all, the dogs themselves have been the best teachers.

We offer year-round positive, private one on one consults/training sessions for dog behavior. Our home sessions cater to your schedule and your dog’s needs. We help solve your dog’s specific problems, as well as an obedience-good manners regimen. We use positive, force free, science based methods with over 35 years experience and education. These methods help you understand your dog’s communication, as well as build your relationship. We offer help with puppies through seniors. We were voted #1 for 4 years in Iron County.

GROWLING IS ANXIOUS COMMUNICATION It’s human nature to correct a dog for growling. What we should try instead is listening to the growl. The dog is communicating that he is very uncomfortable and anxious. You can help him by removing him from that situation, i.e. get him out of there. Normally, when we remove the dog from the situation and get his mind on something else, he will deescalate almost instantaneously. (Distance and distraction equals deescalation.)

Puppies need constructive things to Snuffle mats are a fun tool! These can be lifesavers but need supervision. Simply put kibble and each nook and cranny instead of feeding in a bowl. You have given puppy something to do with food for enrichment, he was going to eat anyway. This slows down his eating and can give him an extra half hour of exerting energy “foraging for food”.
