An ordinary dog shake seems a natural phenomenon in slow motion. Most things built after the year 2000 would fall to pieces, if they were moved that fast.

During this pre-bath clip, we’re really not caring about how it looks. I’m going to go over everything again in fine detail after the bath. This step is not a normal part of most days here. Clipping through a dirty, oily coat quickly dulls my blades which can only be sharpened so many times before they need replaced. If we are not changing the length of coat by a large amount, it is more time and cost-effective to wash and dry a little extra hair than to clip the whole dog twice. When we are switching between two extreme lengths, getting all that bulk off before the bath does save a lot of time. You will notice I avoid the dirtiest areas until after the bath. These clip downs are very satisfying, and she was feeling so good afterwards.

Dogs have stood by us through some of history’s worst tragedies. We owe so much to them, and they ask so little in return. Thank you to these brave heroes.

UPDATE: PEPITA IS HOME! We contacted some neighbors, walked and drove to check ditches by the road. I put her water, bed, and litter box outside. From an hour before dusk, I checked the yard and rattling her food bowl every 10-20 minutes. I had all my fliers printed up, to take out first thing the next morning if she didn’t turn up. Many cats that wander come back on their own between 10pm-2am. Sure enough right before 10:30 she walked up to me happy, healthy, and hungry. I’m so thankful she was just on an adventure and none of the other worst case scenarios I envisioned. We are making sure that she can’t take any unaccompanied vacations again. Thank you to everyone who kept an eye out.

MISSING!!!!!!! REWARD for safe return!!!!!!! Pepita is a little mixed breed, stray that I've had since a kitten with no pedigree or monetary value to anyone, but she means a lot to me personally.

Missing since 5:55am this morning. at Fur-Tastic Pups Dog Grooming, LLC 18114 US 127, Cecil, OH 45821 near the Paulding Pancake House. She is not quite as fluffy as these photos at the moment because of summer shedding. She is a strictly indoor cat. If you spot a calico, please call the Salon (419) 670-8802.
