With nearly two decades of experience and over 18,000 dogs successfully trained at our Cave Creek and Scottsdale locations, we use live rattlesnake cues to build a powerful negative association that helps your dog naturally steer clear of danger. 🐍🐶

Our training sessions run weekly, and signing up is a breeze https://partnersdogs.com/snake-training-for-dogs/. For dogs that have been snake trained in the past, refresher sessions (recommended 1-2 times per year) are critical to reinforce their training and prevent any regression.

Our Training Process:
• Arrival & Check-In: When you arrive at Partners Snake Avoidance, you'll check in with one of our team members. We schedule each time slot individually, so there’s typically only a queue of 2-3 dogs.
• Preparation: We’ll pair you with a trainer who will equip your dog with our specialized gear. Before we begin, we ask a few questions about your dog’s age, background, and any medical issues to be aware of. Once your dog has a few minutes to settle, we’re ready to start!
• The Training Session:
- You and your dog will accompany our trainer back to the training area.
- Our instructor will guide the session, explaining what we observe as your dog encounters live Diamondback Rattlesnakes.
- When your dog shows curiosity, we deliver a small stimulation via an e-collar to create an acute negative association with the rattlesnake’s scent and sound.
- Our trainer then encourages a flight response by running your dog away from the snake.
- This process is repeated several times across our desert habitat to develop a consistent, general negative association and proper response rate.
• Post-Training Assessment:
- Finally, our instructor will review your dog’s performance—assessing whether they responded with fight, flight, freeze, or fawn behaviors—and discuss external factors like energy levels and wind direction that could affect future responses.
- We’ll also recommend when a refresher session should be scheduled to ensure your dog’s safety training remains sharp.
