It’s official! I’m down to the last dozen deer of 2025! Some of them are running behind schedule, but overall, I will be done before season starts, which means, I’m ahead 😂😵‍💫 I apologize for the long waits for everyone, but it won’t be long now! 😁

I hear a lot of people saying that the future of hunting is of great concern, and that ‘the kids just don’t get out hunting anymore’. I’m here to contradict that. 1/5 of the deer that came into my shop this year, were taken by hunters under the age of 18. I didn’t get pictures of all of them, but there were plenty. Most of the kids came in, beaming and smiling ear to ear as they showed off their trophies, many of them first deer ever. Several sets of siblings, and even when some adults bring in their deer, their little ones come with them, so excited for their dads’ big bucks. To me, those are precious moments to be a part of, as I remember myself and my siblings as kids, so excited to see the deer that our parents brought back, and dreaming of the day when we could get one of our own. As your local taxidermist, I can assure you, the future of hunting- is in great hands! ❤️ 🦌

Almost 1k followers for my page! 🤯 that’s pretty mind blowing! If you’ve loved the work I’ve done for you, leave a review on my page! Reviews help build ratings! On a separate note- here is an example of how NOT to skin your deer for mounting. The brisket cut into almost non existence. Luckily, I had a few scrap pieces from multiple other deer from the previous days. 2 hours of sewing later… it’s not perfect, but for multiple other hides patched in… I’d say it’s pretty darn decent! Trying to get colors, patterns, and stitches to all line up and look ok… is actually really hard and time consuming work. If you have questions on skinning/caping, just call or text me! I will be more than happy to walk you through it… and it will make the process so much easier and nicer looking in the end!

Parents!! If your kiddos shot a deer this year and it came to me to be mounted, I will be doing a post just for the Jr. hunters! If you would like me to share a picture of them with their kills, send them to me via messenger! If you are not in favor of their faces being posted, I completely understand and will only post a picture of the finished mount. I had lots of young customers this year, and would love to highlight that, with parental permission! 🙂

I guess I haven’t really done too many shoutout posts, so here’s one. Over the years, I’ve met a lot of taxidermists, mostly through fb groups. Here are two that have been in the business way longer than I’ve been alive, and they know every trick in the book. Not only that, but they’ve shared a lot of that information with me, and are always available when I need help/advice. I’ve met Bob Coughlin at competitions, since he lives in NY, and we get a picture together every time. Glenn Long, however, lives 12 hours away in Alabama. This last week, after years of talking on the phone, I finally drove to Alabama and got to meet Glenn too! So thankful for both of these taxidermy legends! If you’ve noticed improvement in my work over the years, (I certainly hope you have, bc I’ve noticed it 😂) these two played a huge role in that!

Look at this beauty 😍 the last few months, I’ve been bustin’ it with deer… and I can finally say that the deer that came into my shop on or before opening weekend of firearm season… are at least MOUNTED! And now… it’s been over 2 years since I’ve had an actual vacation… for more than 2 days… so while the current batch I just mounted is drying, the shop is closed until May 20th for some much needed r&r! This 7 days a week nonstop thing… it tends to wear on ya some 😂🥴

Last year, I took a break from competing. This year, I got back in the game! And I’m glad I did! There were some craaaaazy mounts and competition level! In a crazy turn of events, my mount that I thought was my champ…. Got smoked by my wild card 😂 my little baby fox pouncing at a butterfly, scored an 88/100, giving me a second place ribbon. My flying squirrel, that I really didn’t expect a ribbon for at all, scored an 87/100, also winning a second place ribbon. And my wild card, the pine marten, turned out to be a hit! He scored 91/100 points, earning a first place ribbon. All in the professional division! And the real surprise… the marten also won best of category- professional division… which really shocked me… and then, he won highest scoring small mammal-professional division!! 🤯 as always, I got some great critiques from some incredibly knowledgeable and skilled taxidermists and learned a lot. I can’t wait to utilize some of the new stuff I learned at the 2026 NY taxidermy convention/competition! 😁

Happy Sunday everybody! Two happy little updates:
1) I have decided that this week, I will take in my waiting list bucks! That means if you contacted me after I reached my cut off point and I told you to keep your bucks frozen until I had some space free up, now is your time to shine! Call or text me and we can set up an appointment for you to come drop yours off, this week!
2) This week, I will be mounting the last of my archery bucks, and then we’re onto rifle season bucks! I’ve been running a few weeks behind, but I’m hoping that now that I’m moved into the new shop and have A LOT more space, I can make up that time!
