Also important to note: if you suspect that your pet may be experiencing heat stress make sure to use LUKE WARM water NOT COLD.

Lukewarm or cool water is crucial during pet heat stress to avoid dropping their body temperature too rapidly. Extremely cold water or ice causes blood vessels near the skin to constrict. This traps trapped heat inside the core organs and can send the animal into shock

Please keep your pets inside during this heatwave!
Refrain from taking them on walks if possible, but if its absolutely necessary please either get up extra early, or wait for after sunset.
Every summer I find blistered paw pads because of pups walking on hot surfaces.

We all love our pets, but many forget to take this into consideration.

🌡️ 🔥 Temps on the surface are MUCH HOTTER than just the air.
It’s heat to let them out early in the morning or late evening/night.
Or, make sure to stay on the grass if you can.
