Raintree Jacks Jack Russell Rescue, Cassatt, SC (2026)

I'm Teresa and we love Jack Russells here at Raintree! We are in a rural section of Kershaw County South Carolina, and offer lots of room for the little white dogs to run and play. Our goal is to rescue as many jrts from kill shelters and private homes that can no longer care for the dogs. We decided this was what we are suppose to do after losing Torrie, our little rescue from southern Florida, b

ack in March of 2013. She was taken from her home where she was emaciated, had no hair due to fleas and ticks and malnourishment. She lived in filth and was 35 to 40% underweight from starvation. After several months here at Raintree, Torrie went from a wild-eyed mess on Prazac to a wonderful loving little dog. It took a lot of time and patience, but it was worth all the effort it took to rehabilitate her. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge March 23, 2013. Most likely due to her tragic life prior to coming to SC with us, she developed an enlarged heart... and it just gave out. What a short 15 months we had with that beautiful little dog. She will forever be missed... and loved. These precious little dogs we rescue will be fully vetted, spayed or neutered, heart worm tested, and loved before finding new forever homes. We are a private, self-funded rescue that loves the breed and want to help every jack and jack mix we can! Monetary gifts to the dogs, donations of food, collars, leashes, harnesses, toys, vet care, beds or anything dog related will be appreciated. Our vet is Dr. Hamilton Tetterton, Mill Village Veternarian in Camden, SC. If you or anyone you know would like to adopt a Jack Russell, or can no longer care for their Jack Russell and wish to rehome them, please let us know.

RYDER
Age: 5

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a very interesting, curious, and handsome boy named Ryder. Ryder is a Jack Russell blend who has beautiful markings and the most expressively beautiful face. As long tall legs and a slender body and that tail… That tail curls up like a corkscrew.

Enough on his physical attributes, Ryder is a very fun and zestful creature. He has an inner joy that just shines through when he sees a toy, a water hose, or some bubbles. You heard me correctly, Ryder goes bonkers if you blow bubbles for him. It’s hard to blow bubbles and laugh at the same time trust me.

OK now the basics of this beautiful dog. Ryder is five years old and weighs about 21 pounds. He absolutely loves people, maybe not so much small children but older kids he adores. He loves to romp and play and run and go for walks and go for rides. This dog thinks he is a human.

He has done well with the dogs here at Raintree, but before coming here was never socialized with other dogs. He was just a house dog and an only pet. The only negative behavior with other dogs that I have seen is the nine puppies were in the play yard with him, and they wanted to keep playing with him and clobbering him and he finally growled and chased one because he was on the bottom of the puppy pile lol.

Ryder has been neutered and he is up to date on his vaccines. He is also heartworm negative and on prevention. This guy would be so much fun for our family with older kids who would get out in the yard and play with him or if you’re a big kid like me, he would be great for you too! He just needs a lot of stimulus and a lot of playtime and a lot of attention. He’s a really good dog.

Hi there big, happy world! I’m Miles and I am looking for a new family to love me. At just a year old, I am perky and energetic and full of myself, and I love to run, romp and play. I love everybody and I am just a joyful soul. I would be happy where I had lots of room to play and I would even like some kids to play with if you could wish a few up for me. I don’t mind other dogs either.

I have all my vaccinations, and I am neutered and heartworm negative. I am a tall fella and I weigh 20 pounds. Mama T thinks I am a Jackadoole whatever that means. I’m super cute and Will charm you with my flirting. I would really like to be someone’s best buddy.

MORGAN
Age: 4

Morgan has been with us for quite some time. Won’t you give him a chance to be a part of a family where you love him, and he loves you back unconditionally?

Hello out there big world. I am Morgan, a very handsome and dapper Jack Russell terrier true to my breed. I am four years old, and I weigh 15 pounds, and I think I weigh 115 pounds. I’m a sweet boy and I love people, and I love to go walking and exploring and jumping up on things to see what’s there.

I came to Raintree Jacks when I was found as a stray doing what I do best just snooping around. I was not neutered at the time, so I had to explore every nook cranny Avenue and around every corner so it’s no wonder I got lost.

Now I’m here at Raintree and I have been fully vetted. I’m heartworm negative and I’m neutered. That’s not something. I’m particularly proud of, but it’s a fact, Jack. I get along with other dogs when we’re introduced properly if they’re not too in my face. I won’t necessarily start an argument, but I won’t walk away from one either. Imagine that a Jack Russell not running from a show showdown.

I’m super smart. I love to learn I’m agile, healthy, cute, athletic, energetic, curious, playful, and did I mention cute? I would really like to have the chance to blend into a wonderful family and be a part of their pack.
