Incredible response to this post. Volunteers are busy reaching out to everyone who submitted a request form. We will likely fill all available wellness appointments from the request forms already received. If we don’t get you into this October clinic, we will keep your name on the list for our next clinic, planned for the spring. 

We have reached out to everyone on our wellness waiting list and still have some openings for upcoming wellness clinic Friday Oct 23 - Saturday Oct 24. There is a requested copay of $20 per animal, which includes a wellness exam and vaccines (but no one has turned away for inability to pay). If you would like to add your pet tothe list, please fill out the request form on our website (or use the link below). A volunteer will text you to schedule an appointment. If we are not able to get you into this clinic, we will keep you on the list for our next clinic in the spring. This clinic is open to residents of the Leech Lake Reservation or enrolled band members.

Join us at Paws in the Park at Mississippi Crossings (307 E. River Parkway) in Chamnplin, on Wednesday, August 19 from 5:30PM – 7:30PM. Along with animal-related vendors and rescues, there will be fun activities and demonstrations, and a food booth available, too! Leech Lake Legacy volunteers will be on hand with merchandise for sale!

One of our very own volunteers, Cindy Ojczyk—cat care attendee and crate cleaner extraordinaire—has authored a book Mom Loves the Dogs More: A Memoir of Family Rescue. It is a hopeful story of family, resilience, and the healing power of rescue pets.

For every book purchased by Leech Lake Legacy supporters using the dedicated link or QR code, Cindy is donating the net profits. That means $5 from each book sold goes directly toward supporting our programs.

Leech Lake Legacy will be the recipient of proceeds from Back Channel Brewing's Community Day on Tuesday, July 7th! Back Channel will generously donate 5% of sales for the entire day, and Leech Lake Legacy volunteers will be on hand from 4pm to 7pm. Visit Back Channel Brewing at 4787 Shoreline Drive in Spring Park. Try one of their award-winning beers or a THC/CBD or non-alcoholic beverage. OG Za Za food truck will be on site that day. Back Channel was recently awarded "Brewery of the Year" by the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild!
