In Loving Memory of Dorothea E. “Doris” Bernardy ❤️
Last Friday would have been Doris’s 68th birthday, and although the years have passed, there are some people whose presence never truly leaves a place.
Doris was one of those people.
She was a very special part of our Grand Paradise Ranch family. She loved the barn, she loved the horses, and she brought with her a kindness and compassion that touched so many of us. We still miss seeing her here. There are memories connected to this barn that time simply cannot erase, and Doris will always be a part of them.
Doris spent her life caring for others as a nurse anesthetist, and it seemed only fitting that we honor her memory with something that may someday help save another life.
We have now installed an AED at Grand Paradise Ranch and dedicated it in loving memory of Doris. Above it hangs a memorial plaque so that everyone who passes by will have the opportunity to remember the wonderful woman behind this dedication.
We wish we could have had it completed in time for her birthday last Friday, but perhaps being a few days late doesn’t matter nearly as much as making sure she is remembered.
Doris, you are still loved. You are still missed. And you will forever have a place here at Grand Paradise Ranch.
May this AED never have to be used — but if the day ever comes when it helps save someone’s life, we can think of no more meaningful way for Doris’s legacy of caring for others to continue.
