A little bit of catch up on things happening here at the farm.

1. Our second set of campers cancelled due to rain this weekend but our first visitor this season was John Hervey on his bucket list quest to hit all 50 states. We were number 47 and he did 48 and 49 on his way back to Montana for an annual event he loves. He is 79 and only has Alaska to go! He did this trip solo on his mare Raven, a MFT. They are the first pictures.

2. We cancelled the Versatility Challenge but plan to hold the one on September 13th. We only need 10 entries to hold it so please sign up in August so we can be ready!

3. Pictures of some great riders we've hosted over the last month.

4. Some photos of the barns and sheds where visiting horses can stay this summer. And the porch on our little rental.

More new stuff! The Carousel Trot Club is $125/yr and covers one rig under one name (bring whoever you want!) for the year, usually ending mid November.

We will have a kiosk built at the trail head with QR codes for different trails. These codes will be organized by length and difficulty and will include info about roads and other obstacles.

The kiosk will have a donation box for your $10 parking or your trot club payment. This money will go to our "Building Bridges" program which not only builds bridges safe for horses but will work to bridge the gap between trail users.

Trails will have markers for horse bypasses along shared trails.

We plan to offer private clinics for desensitizing horses to ATVs, Dogs, Bridges and Water crossings specifically. After 32 yrs of perfecting these skills with 100s of new horses in our sales and trail ride programs we have a systematic, safe and rider inclusive process. We also have great areas and tools with which to work.

Once a year we hope to host a fundraiser trail ride for the Building Bridges" program and plan to apply for grants through the Maine Trails Program.

We will also host popup "secret" trail opportunities, where we will show you spots to ride that are hard to find on your own and many that won't be on a map!

I can't wait to get this new program going full time. But this year will be a great step in to a new decade of fun times.

Our trails are good to go now! We're so lucky to have good drainage and sandy trails here. I forget that trails might not be open elsewhere. So im doing freebie Wednesday parking. Portopotty doesn't come until May 6. Picnic tables will be out and water is available so you don't have to tote it. We can ride with you or give you written directions. We're working on Gaia and Equilab shares.
