A lot of people have been asking about the little baby who hatched a few days ago ā€” the one whose mama pecked out his eye and left his head bloody.

Iā€™m sad to report that the little guy has passed.

I feel absolutely terrible, but I truly did everything I could for him. He was hanging in there and seemed to be doing okay, but there was one thing I kept noticingā€¦

He was always sleeping, laying down, or resting his head flat on the ground. Looking back, I canā€™t help but wonder if he may have suffered some sort of brain injury from what happened.

These little birds are truly so incredibly tough. They can fight through things that would shock you. But unfortunately, from the moment this little guy entered the world, he was dealt a pretty awful hand.

He fought as hard as he could, and Iā€™m grateful I was able to give him a chance.

I had a pet peahen named Rhubarb. She was super fun until she got big.

She escaped alot. Like a lot a lot. And she was very wild.

I have the scars on my arm to prove itšŸ¤£ Rhubarb went to live with other peas.

This picture(Taken in 2023) is me when I caught her one night. She grew up with silkies so at this time she didnā€™t roost. I saw her go in the woods that evening and I was able to catch her as she was laying in the tall grass once it got dark šŸ¤£

Moral of the story- do not get peacocks šŸ¤£ they remind me of leghorns on steroids šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
