College riding in action! 🐴🎓👏

Lake Pointe trainer and college coach Aimee spent the weekend at Alpine Ridge with the Oakland University Equestrian Club for an IHSA show hosted by Grand Valley State University — and these riders had a GREAT weekend!

From fences to flat classes and Introductory through Open, the team brought home some fantastic placings, including multiple wins and lots of ribbons. 🏆💙

But here’s something we really want younger riders and their parents to know: college riding isn’t only for riders who own expensive horses or have been competing at the highest levels their entire lives.

IHSA gives riders of different experience levels the opportunity to compete as part of a college team — and that’s one of the things we love about it.

Aimee coaches collegiate riders for Oakland University and Wayne State University, and we’re incredibly proud to have that experience right here at Lake Pointe.

If riding in college is something you’ve wondered about — whether you’re an experienced show rider or a lesson student who simply LOVES horses — talk to us! There may be more opportunities out there than you realize. 🐴❤️

And congratulations to all of the riders on a fantastic weekend at Alpine Ridge! 👏🏆

What do YOU look for when choosing a boarding barn?

Clean, comfortable stalls? Plenty of turnout? Good riding space? Heat in the winter? Trails? Great care? Or maybe it’s finding a barn where you actually enjoy spending your time, too. ❤️

Come meet us, walk through the barn, see where your horse would live and ask ALL the questions.

Some of the best barn memories have nothing to do with ribbons. ❤️🐴

They’re the little moments. Walking down the barn aisle hand-in-hand. Watching kids fall in love with horses. Friendships formed, confidence built, and memories that families will carry with them for years.

This beautiful photo shared by Melanie Rose says it better than we ever could. 🥹

At Lake Pointe Equestrian Center, we’re pretty lucky to have a barn filled with wonderful horses—and even better people. ❤️

This is what barn life is all about.

Your horse spends more time at the barn than you do. Choose their home carefully.

When you’re choosing a boarding facility, you’re trusting someone with a member of your family.

That’s something we take seriously at Lake Pointe.

From daily turnout and 24/7 hay to consistent feeding, daily checks and clean, well-maintained facilities, our goal is simple: create an environment where horses can be happy, healthy and comfortable — and where their people feel good about leaving them in our care.

And when it’s time to ride, our large 70’ x 185’ indoor arena gives you the opportunity to keep riding through Michigan’s rain, snow and everything in between.

🐴 Lake Pointe is currently accepting new boarders.

If you’ve been thinking about making a change, you don’t have to commit to anything. Come walk the barn, meet us and see the facility for yourself.
