THIS is exactly why we recommend everyone stays current on their rabies vaccines. It is 45d at home quarantine with a wound of unknown origin vs 6 months isolation if they are unvaccinated or euthanasia. There is no way to test for rabies on a living patient either. 😞 I have stories of indoor only cats getting exposed to rabies too (they all survived at least)
